This is one of the biggest problems with culture of many today. What they will soon find out is that any successful business will not pay them 50% for 25% of the work, but will happily pay them 0% for none of the work and find someone else that is willing to do 125% of the work required to be successful for 75% of the pay. Good luck on your early retirement.

I agree and disagree with that statement. It all depends on which field you're looking at. In the field I am, good software developers are not ripe for the picking. High demand versus low supply equals some leverage. The companies in these fields will pull on the short end if they don't realize it.
If someone is easily replaceable this argument doesn't work anymore, of course.
