Plan is a detailed proposal for doing or achieving something. For someone or an individual to be successful in a particular thing or task he/she has to plan. The question we need to ask ourselves is "What's my plan".
Proper Planning for a specific purpose is very essential and useful.
These uses of Planning makes it possible in intelligent behavior in complex, dynamic, multiagent environments. We can begin by asking what exactly we mean by "planning". For many years, planning had a quite specific meaning in our life it was the process of formulating a program of action to achieve some specified goal.

Everyone must have a plan, be it daily plan, weekly plan, monthly plan or yearly plan. Because planing for a specific thing gives us or encourage us to achieve a particular task at a specific period of time. planing ahead is very important if we take a look at people In power (Authority) they are ahead in the sense that, they estimate the amount they are going to spend on every sector of the government which is commonly called (budget) is more or less planning for another year.
No marriage is done without proper Planning. In fact they sometimes pay people to plan for them, so as an individual, planning has to be part of us, we should learn how to plan on how we will spend money(as a worker) and as a student learn how to plan for exams.
There are three types of Planning:
(1)Operational Planning: the process of planning strategic goals and objectives to technical goals and objectives. .
(2)Strategic Planning: process in which organizational leaders determine their vision for the future as well as identify their goals and objectives for the organization
(3)Tactical Planning: the process of breaking down the strategized plan into distinctive short term plans.
(4)Contingency Planning: plan designed to take account of a possible future event or circumstance.

When we know all this, then nothing will come unexpectedly though "things don't come the way we plan" that's why we need plan A, plan B even C.
