There are many complains here and there in the whole community, I personally have my own issue I'm facing in community likewise the old users not to talk of the newbies. The newbies are always happy whenever they post their introductory post and get a heavy reward for it. They sometimes think reward will always be high and they just have to add little effort. Give this newbies sometime to adapt to the community, then the frustration begins.
Have spent close to 2 to 3 months in the community, little I know about how things works, we should know that posting a particular post is not an easy task, what you are posting must atleast carry everyone along, having it in mind that you will get a reward. Because POB has to do with stressing your brain, gather ideas, bring it together in order to feed the community and people reading what you've posted, and at the end of the day get your reward for it which should be base on the service you've rendered.
I got a call from a newbie yesterday, complaining about low reward, I can sense how down she was, telling how she manage to write a comprehensive post and getting a low reward, I had to calm her down and share my personal experience with her, which I'm going to say now.
I wrote a post about 'fear' dividing it into parts, the first part I posted, I got minimal reward for it and even in my comments, people are waiting for the second part, when I finally post the second part, the reward I saw was not what I expected ( very low) then I begin to wonder, what's going on, my recent post about 'friend' I get no reward for it, I was sick when I wrote the post, I kind of let her know that you can work, put all your efforts to it and get low reward you just have to do your task.
And also the leaders in the community should try and regulate things in the community, because the kind of complains reaching everyday will not allow new people to have interest in the community, and the leaders should increase the number of curators in the community, and also let the effort to be equal with the reward.

I understand your frustration but I checked how much you comment on other people's posts and realized that you only made two comments in the entire time you've been here. People at POB value those who get involved and are interested in other posts. If you want people to care about your publication, start caring about theirs; read other people's posts, comment from the heart, make friends, that's what POB is all about too, and not just post daily and think that everyone will vote for your post, you need to bond. If you do this, and advise those novices who complain to you, to do the same, your rewards are sure to increase.

@aiuna has the right of it. I'll go through at least a dozen articles in a day. I can't spend all day here. Even with a curation team it's difficult to keep up. Everyone has their own lives to lead. You've got to keep posting or, at least, be consistent and engage with others to increase your following.
Also @amr posts articles on the frequency at which certain whales normally vote. Keep an eye out for one of his articles as it could help.
