Start of a new project at Gdansk University of Technology - AI
Hi,
today I would like to tell you about the start of a new artificial intelligence project that I have recently started. The title of the project is "Analysis of biosignals using artificial neural networks for detecting states of a subject". As the name suggests, the goal of the work is to create a system that will be able to distinguish the states of the subject depending on the activity performed. To best imagine it we can assume that the person tested will be on the chair, which will be built in ECG sensors allowing to check what is happening with the person, then in the case when an elderly person begins to show abnormal behavior such as continuous coughing information will be sent about the fact that the person is coughing.
So far
I have managed to create a neural network, which I trained on the basis of data collected by scientists, but only to check the accuracy of artificial intelligence model. Interestingly, the accuracy is around 85%. The next thing that is ready is a web application that will display information about what is happening to the patient at any given time. I am currently figuring out what information should be displayed. Is it just the activity or should an ECG image be generated.
Today was actually my first day
to prepare to collect real data to train the network. Unfortunately, I am still looking for ideas for non-normative states. For now, I will definitely study the moment when a person coughs, holds their breath for a long moment, and the normal state. If anyone has an idea for a study I will be happy to ask for suggestions.

Very clever. I remember when I was studying my Computer Science degree, Bio informatics was a hot area. It appears that the combination of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Neural networks, medicine and Biology are all coming together quite nicely.

Yep, in Poland they made first time special Master dagree Artificial Intelligence in Medicine. I like it but more like hobby bcs Im frontend developer 😂
