Brave Browser Integrating Solana!

About a week ago, I posted this magnificent write up highlighting a ton of reasons you should stop using Google Chrome. Instead, you can use Brave Browser and get all the same extensions plus much more. The main focus is privacy. Well a couple days ago at Solana Breakpoint conference, we learned of yet another reason to use Brave.

Solana Becoming the Default

Since the beginning, Brave has had support for Ethereum and its native BAT token, which is an ERC-20 token. There's a built in crypto wallet that allows you to interact with Ethereum dApps and it even has support for hardware wallets natively. Talk about crypto freedom and privacy. Well, as a ton of projects are doing, and as most should, Brave is going cross chain!

With the integration of Solana, it will be the default wallet for Brave browser. You can still use Ethereum of course, and hopefully more chains will be supported in the future. Personally, I haven't had hands on experience with Solana by choice. I've heard some great things about it and it sounds awesome on paper. I just don't personally have experience with it, but I know they have had some ups and downs.

The Solana integration will bring native Solana chain support to 42 million active users and 1.3 million Verified Creators on Brave. That's massive! More and more we hear about regular apps putting crypto in the hands (literally) of users that have never touched crypto. This is what it's going to take for true mass adoption. According to this article, Solana is the fastest blockchain in the world (I'm not sure) and has fees less than a penny. As I said, I haven't used it so I'm just giving you the information I found.

The biggest piece of this integration, in my opinion, is the Solana DEX aggregator, NFT support, and Solana tokens. This will allow for anonymous token swaps directly in Brave without the need for a centralized party. Brave is heavily privacy focused and also protects user's wallet addresses. They are moving toward being blockchain agnostic, which is huge for users of different chains like myself. Looks like I need to give Solana a test drive.

So I'll say it again - uninstall Chrome. Install Brave. Be happy that your privacy is protected by default.

Even if you have nothing to hide, your personal privacy is priceless.

peace.
