That awful smell ( hive naija weekly prompt)

Source

Run! Run!! Run!!! That's the vibrational sound coming from the children, someone around that place would think it's a game they are playing unknown to them that the are actually running for their lives, they have committed a crime which is punishable to beat their ass.

Some years back we had a bush around our house side and it was filled with different trees with it's sweet fruits, that bush was mostly our Play ground and our hunting ground too. We plugged different fruits from there and also throw dirty there too, they whole area formed it a habits to throw dirty around that side.

As time goes on the bush was sold out and was bought by the government so they cleared it and started building a hospital there, it was no longer the bush we knew it to be all the trees were cut down and people gathered the woods for firewood.

Before we realized it people were beginning to put dirty around that place though it's a small spot around the hospital ( behind ) and it happened to be three blocks away from ours, the smell that accumulates there was unbearable it disturbed us living around there so we took a decision.

The decision was to stop anyone coming to pour dirty around there but what and how are we going to do it, well we agreed that if we see anyone throwing dirty there we would force the person to pack his/her dirty back that way it would reduce the odor coming from there.

So any child that comes to pour dirty there use to be careful so as to pour it and run away safely. For them it was a game, joke or play but it was really causing air pollution in the atmosphere unfortunately something happened one day which stopped or would I say reduced it.

There was like five children coming to pour dirty that day, they had pour it and was about to leave when my neighbor caught them they tried to escape thinking he hadn't seen them but it was too late for them , he asked them to look for a wheelbarrow and come back to that spot.

They each returned with a wheelbarrow and he asked them to start packing the dirty and taking it to the main refuge spot which was quiet far from there, he instructed them to keep on parking it and taking it there until he asked them to stop.

They went about ten rounds each with their wheel barrow filled to the brim, all sweating and stressed out before he told them to stop. The news of how they were punished spread all around and some kids were scared to come around that side to throw dirty it was a lesson which they learnt quickly.

Although some still throw dirty when no one is watching we couldn't help it, we still suffered from that environmental pollution which affected the atmosphere.

It wasn't easy but we scaled through, you might have a different view on how to tackle such situations if it were you so share those ideas of yours with us let's learn from a different view.

Your comments would be really appreciated, thanks for reading through.

Some people can really be stubborn when it comes to throwing dirty in unwanted places. Your neighbor did great with the punishment, even thought it did not stopped them it reduce the numbers of people throwing dirt.

But why don't you people ever thought of clearing the place and plant stuff on the land I think that could have reduced the people coming to mess the place of.

Honestly, people like that deserve punishment like that. Having no remorse whatsoever while actively causing decay in the environment is unacceptable. This is the reason and cause for the wide spread of malaria. Thank you for sharing with us.
