Becoming An Entrepreneur Or A Professional?

There are some mistakes that some motivators make in their speeches. Some of them only motivate their audiences to become businessmen or entrepreneurs. In fact, becoming an entrepreneur needs a strong mentality.
I attended a teaching seminar a few years ago. In the first minutes, the motivator told the audience to be good teachers, but in the middle of the speech, he brought up the topic that one will be successful in their life if they become entrepreneurs.
Success has different meanings for every job field. A teacher will be successful if he can make students achieve the lesson objectives. A doctor will be successful if he can help his patients recover from their illnesses.

A professional or an entrepreneur

There are difference between a professional and an entrepreneur.

A professional is a member of a profession or any person who earns a living from a specified professional activity.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Professional
An entrepreneur is typically an individual who creates a new business, plays an active role in its operations, assumes most of the financial risk, and enjoys most of its success.

From those descriptions, the difference is clear. A professional earns a living from a specified profession. A professional works for a company. He does not think about his business activities. He is responsible for his tasks and duties. The salary depends on his company's assessment and financial condition. A professional who is unhappy with his salary should look for a new job that pays more.If a professional decides to be an entrepreneur because he is not satisfied with his salary, he may find himself in a worse situation than at his previous work place. Being an entrepreneur should involve all business activities. Those are big problems.

An entrepreneur, on the other hand, should be skilled in management, finance, marketing, and all aspects of business. Those are tough fields of work that an entrepreneur should handle. An entrepreneur is an opportunist.
A mechanic who runs his own workshop is an entrepreneur. His earnings depend on how he gives services to his clients. When more clients are satisfied, they will come back to his workshop.
Being successful as an entrepreneur is not easy. There are some challenges in business activities that are not written in theories. That is why a successful businessman who can turn a good profit is a wise and strong man.
What are you?
I am a typically an entrepreneur. I did not make good job when I worked for an institution. I used to be an English teacher. Yet, I feel uncomfortable in that position. I did not matter with the salary though it was not big but I had problem with the position when I was under supervision. I liked to work on my own ideas. In fact, my ideas were not in accordance with the institution. That is why I quit from some education institutions many times. I enjoy doing my small business but the problem is the volume of sales still low.
How about you? Are you a professional or an entrepreneur? Keep up your good work whatever you are.

I believe, either professional or entrepreneurship suppose to go along. We talk about the mindset and mentality of being successful. They could stand alone depending on the person. As the matter of fact, many teachers with entrepreneurship behavior also exist among us. Great post anyway!
