Larry the postman is a promotional thing to get people doing a few tasks. You read mails and surf websites and with a proving post you get a nice upvote from Larry and some other people who do also this contest.
That sounds easy enough :D It reminds me I must have read about a post or two about something like this some weeks back.
These posts are flying around everywhere. Larry must be busy all the time.
I bet he is :D
