Building trust at work

Introduction

Are you a really skilled and hardworking person at work, but you still don't feel like you're being treated fairly? That's OK; sometimes, being the most skilled or hardworking isn't enough; sometimes, you need to develop trust in your workplace. So how to develop that trust?

Being honest

Either you are the boss or an employee, you need to be honest with your workmates or the people working under you. If you are a boss, being honest will make your workers believe in their work future and the goals they need to achieve while working since they are sure it will only bring benefits for all of them and not only for you. If you are an employee, you shall be honest with all your workmates and with your boss. When asked about something, you shall answer if you know the answer and if you can do a job they do with the most effort, with a smile on your face. In addition, being honest in doing your job can make your reputation better between people, and that might higher your chances of getting a promotion since no one will be against that as long as you are trustworthy between people.

Accept criticism

Accepting criticism to make yourself, your personality, and work better is essential in workplaces. Usually, the negative people who don't accept any criticism end up losing their jobs first or struggling with their current work since they have no room for improvement in their life and so in their work, which is something that doesn't want to see with someone you are working with. It gets harder when the person thinks he is doing his job the best, yet he isn't and still refuses to accept criticism.

Show appreciation

Appreciating your other workmate's work, or if you are a boss, appreciating the employee's work, especially the well-done ones of them, is essential to build a healthy work environment that is built mainly on trust. If you've seen an employee or workmate doing their job perfectly, it's good to say some good, heartwarming words to motivate them to do better and keep their productivity high.

Stay positive

The people around you may work with you with ease or might struggle in dealing with you, so they try to avoid you as much as possible. You might not notice that, but the people around you would love to deal with positive workmates, a smile on their face, and someone easy to work with. Taking things too seriously, even if it doesn't require, might make you look like a machine to others. You do your job very well, but that's it for you. With a positive personality, you may open a space for the people working around you to get close to you and know the real you, which will eventually build a good trust bond between you and your workmates or boss.

Conclusion

Nicely said @lennyblogs00...
Building trust at work can help us go along way, integrity matters a lot when it comes to performing our duties because that trait is rare...

Another point I love is showing appreciation, it matters a lot and when you appreciate little things, more comes to you....

Thanks..
