Introducing the All-New Notifications UI on LeoFinance, Hive Notis Like Never Before

Notifications have long been a sore spot on the Hive blockchain. From a UI/UX point of view, it's been hard to see notifications the way you want to see them, when you want to see them. One thing that has always been on our radar is building an incredible UI for reading and responding to notifications on-chain.

With the explosive growth we're seeing on Threads, it's become so incredibly important to build a robust, beautiful and intuitive notifications UI.

We started with a base model for notifications and if you used the UI up until 2 days ago, you will know what they experience was like.

It was super clean and fun to use but there were a few problems:

  1. Notifications only went back a few hours
  2. Notifications would disappear
  3. No way to mark as read
  4. Missing notifications for certain actions (like mentions, articles, etc.)

Well, today we solved all of these problems. The new notifications UI takes your engagement experience on the Hive blockchain to incredible new heights.

Introducing the All-New Notifications UI on LeoFinance

You probably can already tell a lot of the differences here. You see your mentions, you also see all the comments on your threads. Votes on your posts and threads can also be seen - so you can watch the flow of crypto rewards into your wallet.

It's super intuitive and user-friendly.

Filters

Filters are a game-changer on this new notifications UI. You can now filter by:

  1. Votes
  2. Replies
  3. Mentions
  4. Followers

We've got many more filters on the way as well. We're going to make the filtering experience insanely great.

As of today, we also added a "Search by Keyword" feature which lets you search by any keyword in your notifications. Trust me when I tell you this completely changes your ability to reply and be engaging.

Check out this filter, where I'm able to see all the times @taskmaster4450le has interacted with me on-chain. Whether it's:

  1. Voting on my content
  2. Replying to my threads
  3. Replying to my posts
  4. Mentioning me anywhere on-chain

It's amazing what you can achieve with some simple filtering options.

Next

We spent the month of May working super hard to fix major bugs that were reported on the frontend. It's only been 1 month since the new UI launched and I think it's safe to say that the experience has gone from 0-100 real quick.

Between bug fixes and feature updates, the new UI is becoming a fun, fast, intuitive and engaging way to build your brand and create content on the Hive blockchain.

This month, we'll be rolling out some crazy big feature updates. We have one more update for the notifications UI this week which will fix an issue where you can't see a Thread within the UI (similar to twitter / the old noti UI). This will allow you to respond / upvote replies even faster.

The next major update will be for the Articles page. Wow... When you guys experience this you'll feel the same radical change to your long-form content experience as you felt on Threads when the new UI launched. Strap in 🚀

My mistake, I was already logged in, but thought I wasn't. Well I had a Log in button, but when I checked just now it had gone. Something odd going on.

Oh, and the notifications look much better. I know it's hard to get the right balance with these things. I am using peakd, Leo and Ecency, which are all slightly different.
