it normally costs about $3 to create an account. see my afternote in the post for more info. Also see this to check out alternatives for lower or no cost.

you can give it your friends and save them $3, or ask them to buy you a coffee! :)

the cost of 1 account in terms of RC varies. I don't really know what is the current cost.

I think I read somewhere that it's only for creating accounts, and that it isn't transferable...?...

once we claim it, its for account creation.

maybe there is a way to charge for account creation, but not without some complicated development of a site.

the right to create an account isn't transferable, but I could create the account and sell it to people. the account is transferable.

The cheapest option advertised on Hive.io's signup page to create a Hive account that doesn't require verification is through #Actifit which costs $2. 🤔 However, the catch with Actifit signup is that you need to be able to send HIVE to pay for the account, so you need to either have your own Hive account or have somebody with a Hive account pay on your behalf. 😏

As in… I can create a new account for you and you send me some Hive less than the market price. Some people like this convenience.

And yes, some people may be able to sell their account. Supposed I own the account called iPhone and then build a massive following. Apple may want to buy it for marketing purposes.

Right now, the only way you can charge for Hive account creation without the need for a website or dapp is to manually make an offer (on the Hive platform or somewhere else) that you are selling Hive account creation. 🤔 Even if there is a Hive dapp that enables you to automatically sell Hive accounts by using your Account Creation Tokens (that you claimed using Resource Credits), it will still require your private active key which can be risky. 🤓

It's true that the Account Creation Token (ACT) is used to create new Hive accounts, which can be obtained either by burning a huge amount of Resource Credits (provided by roughly 5,000 Hive Power) or burning HIVE (which is 3 HIVE right now as voted by the top Hive Witnesses). 🤓 !CTP

While ACTs cannot be transferred, you can use it to create Hive accounts for yourself (if ever you need it in the future), your friends in real life, or your friends here on Hive. 😏 !LUV

Since you don't want to have more than one Hive account for myself, you can still create some for your friends so that they don't have to pay 3 HIVE or greater just to join Hive. 🤓 !LUV !CTP

Maybe you don't have friends (real-life or online) willing to join Hive yet, such that when the time comes that they start asking you about joining Hive, you might struggle with having enough Account Creation Tokens (either by burning Resource Credits or burning 3 HIVE) to let them have their own Hive accounts. 🤓 !LUV !CTP

That's why you should claim Account Creation Tokens for free by burning Resource Credits whenever you can, because you won't know when you would need to create new Hive accounts. 🤓 !LOL !CTP

The current cost of claiming Account Creation Tokens in terms of Resource Credits vary depending on how many Hive accounts have recently claimed ACTs using their RCs, much like how the worth of each vote varies depending on how much total Voting Mana has been recently used by Hive accounts. 🤓

More people claiming Account Creation Tokens using Resource Credits would mean that the cost of claiming another token would increase, which would then motivate Hive users who claim those tokens to get more Hive Power or borrow Resource Credits. 🤓

It costs you the RC of app. 5000HP. Once you have an account creation token you can use that for free.
