Farming Tales is an NFT-based farming simulator built and developed on the WAX blockchain.
On Farming Tales I play two roles:

• I am a player who has invested in the purchase of NFTs and tokens
• I am an operator of the Cartel project of the beautiful Hive community called OneUp.
  OneUp is a community focused on blockchain games and OneUp Cartel is primarily a Meta Gaming Guild.

A week ago I published a financial evaluetion of the Farming Tales game and based on that evaluation @oneup-cartel decided to invest 500 HBD in the Farming Tales game.
As an operator I will be managing OneUp Cartel's investment in Farming Tales and today I am presenting my first weekly operating report.

Farming Tales and OneUp Cartel Investment

The creation of the 1carteltales account

To manage the Farming Tales investment, I created a dedicated account that I called 1carteltales.

To create a WAX account I had two options:

• first option: Wax Cloud Wallet (https://all-access.wax.io/).
• second option: create a Custom Account.

After asking advice from two WAX experts I chose the second option because it is more secure.
Creating a custom account requires the availability of 20 WAX but allows you to have full ownership and full management of the private keys of a WAX account, which is not the case when you create an account through WAX Cloud Wallet.

To create the 1carteltales account:

• I downloaded the wallet Anchor (https://greymass.com/en/anchor/).
• I generated 4 keys from Anchor: two public keys and two private keys
• I saved the two pairs of keys (one as Owner and one as Active)
• I went to https://wallet.wax.io/create-account
• I entered only the public keys and I chose a name of 12 characters (1carteltales)
• I created the account
• I went to Anchor and I imported the account inserting only the Active Key

Budget and Initial Investment

Farming Tales is not a free game and in order to start playing and to earn in-game rewards, you need to make an initial investment that consists primarily of purchasing at least one of the following card combinations (NFT):

• Hen + Coop
• Goose + Shelter
• Goat + Stable
• Cow + Stable
• Sheep + Stable
• Pig + Stable
• Garden
• Lumberjack
• Fishing Pier
• Hive

All Farming Tales NFTs can be purchased:

• from the Market section of Farming Tales using SEST tokens (Crafting operation)
• from the Market section of AtomicHub using WAX tokens:

Additionally Farming Tales has two different types of tokens that have different use cases:

• SEST tokens
• CBIT tokens
  
  The SEST tokens are the tokens that can be obtained by players through the Harvest operation and are therefore the rewards of the game.
  The CBIT tokens are utility tokens and are used to buy food and water.

Food and water are consumable in-game items and are required in order to perform the Harvest operation.

I received a budget of 500 HBD to invest in Farming Tales.

I had planned to use Binance for the HBD -> WAX conversion but I could not use it because Binance required identity verification and I preferred not to wait for the verification time.

To convert HBD tokens to WAX tokens I chose to follow the following path:

HBD->HIVE->SWAP.HIVE->SWAP.WAX->WAX

For the conversion of the tokens HBD->HIVE and SWAP.HIVE -> SWAP.WAX I chose to make BID purchase offers because with the SWAP operation I was losing a lot of value.

Thanks to the BID purchase offers, thanks to the value fluctuations of WAX tokens and SWAP.HIVE tokens and thanks also to a bit of luck I was able to complete the conversion HBD -> WAX without incurring costs.

The Assets purchased

To perform operations on the WAX blockchain, you need to have a minimum of resources (NET, CPU, RAM).

I did not use OneUp Cartel funds for account creation because it was my personal choice to create a custom account.
Subsequently I used 23 WAX to increase the CPU resource (WAX stacked) to be able to perform the operations of Harvest in tranquility.

To choose which Farming Tales NFTs to purchase, I calculated the estimated expected annual ROI for each NFT combination on the market.

Farming Tales NFTs have been fluctuating in value in recent days and in some cases very markedly from one day to the next.
For this reason I have chosen to buy NFTs at different times waiting for the best opportunities.

So far I have purchased 11 NFTs:

• 3 NFT Harlequin Cow
• 2 NFT Harlequin Goat
• 1 NFT Silo Raro
• 5 NFT Stable

To purchase the 11 NFTs I listed above, I spent a total of 908.92 WAX.

Just today, some players put up some Stable cards for sale at the lowest price recorded in a 30-day period.

Because of this, the value of the card collection decreased just today and showed a negative difference in value: -26$.

From the Harvest operation, SEST tokens are obtained.
SEST tokens can be staked for a daily CBIT token reward.

In order to have a self-sufficient farm that can collect rewards without having to purchase CBIT tokens to make food and water refills, I purchased 14970 SEST tokens that I staked within the Wallet section of Farming Tales.

I also added all the SEST tokens I got from Harvest operations to the Stacked SEST token pool for a total of 15594 SEST.
Today February 2, 2022, 15594 stacked SEST tokens allow to get 7.46 CBIT tokens per day whose dollar value is $0.45.

To purchase 14970 SEST tokens I used the Alchor exchange and spent 195 WAX.

Profit and ROI

It's time to do some calculations and compare costs and revenues even if the investment period is very short.

I created a prospectus to show and monitor the financial results of the Farming Tales investment that I manage for Cartel.

As you can see from the data in the image below the Profit and ROI value are negative even though small:

• Profit: - 114 WAX = - 37.14S
• ROI: - 10.17%.

A negative ROI but with only two days of collecting rewards

OneUp Cartel's investment in Farming Tales has only two effective days of activity.
The negative ROI is due to the decrease in value of the Farming Tales assets recorded especially on today, February 2.

Until 12:00 AM on February 2 the lowest price of a Stable card was 60 WAX
Today a Stable card has a market price of 40 WAX.
On 30 January I bought a Harlequin Cow card at the price of 92 WAX
Today a Harlequin Cow card has a market price of 123 WAX.

Farming Tales is a young game in full development and improvement phase and the fluctuations in price and value of assets are relatively large in the very short term.

The data that in my opinion is important is not the negative ROI but the value of the rewards collected in two days of operation (Harverst).
In fact, despite a loss that I consider initial and temporary: -114.64 WAX, in just two days the value of the rewards obtained was 10.58 WAX.

If the values of Farming Tales assets remain the same as they are now, it will take less than 22 days to reach the break-even point.

Having purchased cards at successive times the gain per day is already increasing: $1,445 (next image)

Assuming that the values of the assets of Farming Tales remain as they are today the current daily gain would lead to an annual gain of $527.53

Obviously this gain will be greater if the SEST tokens, CBIT tokens and NFTs increase in value in the future and will be less in the opposite case.

Conclusion

If I had written this report yesterday I would have recorded a profit but I'm happy to have written it today because the results even if negative show the dynamics of a farming game like Farming Tales that has only a few months of life and is in continuous development.

A few days ago many improvements were introduced to the game and its graphical interface.
The Harvest operation, for example, is much simpler and more immediate to do than before.

With the current prices of some NFTs it is a good time in my opinion to continue investing trying to catch the best bargains.

In the wallet of 1carteltales I still have 456 WAX to invest.

I will start now to use another part of the budget made available to me to buy the combinations of cards that provide the best estimated annual profit ;)

Una settimana fa ho pubblicato una valutazione finanziaria del gioco di Farming Tales e sulla base di quella valutazione @oneup-cartel ha deciso di investire 500 HBD nel gioco di Farming Tales.
Come operatore mi occuperò della gestione dell'investimento di OneUp Cartel su Farming Tales e oggi presento il mio primo report operativo settimanale.

Creazione dell'account 1carteltales

Per gestire l'investimento su Farming Tales ho creato un account dedicato che ho chiamato 1carteltales.

Per creare un account WAX avevo due opzioni:

• prima opzione: Wax Cloud Wallet (https://all-access.wax.io/)
• seconda opzione: creare un Account Personalizzato.

Dopo aver chiesto consiglio a due esperti di WAX ho scelto la seconda opzione perchè più sicura.
Creare un custom account richiede la disponibilità di 20 WAX ma permette di avere il pieno possesso e la piena gestione delle chiavi private di un account WAX, cosa che invece non avviene quando si crea un account tramite WAX Cloud Wallet.

Per creare l'account 1carteltales:

• ho scaricato il wallet offline Anchor (https://greymass.com/en/anchor/)
• ho generato da Anchor 4 chiavi: due chiavi pubbliche e due chiavi private
• ho salvato le due coppie di chiavi (una come Owner e una come Active)
• sono andato su https://wallet.wax.io/create-account
• ho inserito solo le chiavi pubbliche e ho scelto un nome di 12 caratteri (1carteltales)
• sono andato su Anchor e ho importato l'account inserendo solo la Active Key

Budget e Investimento Iniziale

Farming Tales non è un gioco gratuito e per iniziare a giocare e per raccogliere le ricompense di gioco è necessario effettuare un investimento iniziale che consiste principalmente nell'acquisto di almeno una delle seguenti combinazioni di carte (NFT):

• Hen + Coop
• Goose + Shelter
• Goat + Stable
• Cow + Stable
• Sheep + Stable
• Pig + Stable
• Garden
• Lumberjack
• Fishing Pier
• Hive

Tutti gli NFT di Farming Tales possono essere acquistati:

• dalla sezione Market di Farming Tales utilizzando i token SEST (operazione di Crafting)
• dalla sezione Market di AtomicHub utilizzando i token WAX:

Inoltre Farming Tales ha due diversi tipi di token che hanno casi d'uso differenti:

• i token SEST
• i token CBIT
  
  I token SEST sono i token ottenibili dai giocatori tramite l'operazione di Harvest e quindi sono le ricompense del gioco.
  I token CBIT sono degli utility token e servono per acquistare il cibo e l'acqua.

Il cibo e l'acqua sono elementi di gioco consumabili e sono indispensabili per poter effettuare l'operazione di Harvest.

Ho ricevuto un budget di 500 HBD da investire su Farming Tales.

Avevo preventivato di usare Binance per la conversione HBD -> WAX ma non ho potuto utilizzarlo perchè Binance mi ha richiesto la verifica dell'identità e ho preferito non aspettare i tempi per la verifica.

Per convertire i token HBD in token WAX ho scelto di seguire il seguente percorso:

HBD->HIVE->SWAP.HIVE->SWAP.WAX->WAX

Per la conversione dei token HBD->HIVE e SWAP.HIVE -> SWAP.WAX ho scelto di effettuare offerte di acquisto BID perchè con l'operazione di SWAP perdevo davvero tanto valore.

Grazie alle offerte di acquisto BID, grazie alle oscillazioni di valore dei token WAX e SWAP.HIVE e grazie anche ad un pò di fortuna sono riuscito a completare la conversione HBD -> WAX senza sostenere costi.

Gli Assets acquistati

Per effettuare le operazioni sulla blockchain di WAX è necessario avere un minimo di risorse (NET, CPU, RAM).

Non ho utilizzato i fondi di OneUp Cartel per la creazione dell'account perchè è stata una mia personale scelta creare un account custom.
Successivamente ho utilizzato 23 WAX per aumentare la risorsa CPU (WAX stacked) per poter effettuare le operazioni di Harvest in tutta tranquillità.

Per la scelta degli NFT di Farming Tales da acquistare ho calcolato il ROI stimato atteso annuale per ogni combinazione di NFT presente sul mercato.

Gli NFT di Farming Tales hanno avuto negli ultimi giorni oscillazioni di valore in alcuni casi molto marcate e da un giorno ad un'altro.
Per questo motivo ho scelto di acquistare gli NFT in momenti diversi aspettando le occasioni migliori.

Fino ad ora ho acquistato 11 NFT:

• 3 NFT Harlequin Cow
• 2 NFT Harlequin Goat
• 1 NFT Silo Raro
• 5 NFT Stable

Per l'acquisto degli 11 NFT che ho elencato prima ho speso in totale: 908.92 WAX

Proprio oggi alcuni giocatori hanno messo in vendita alcune carte Stable al prezzo più basso registrato in un arco temporale di 30 giorni.

Per questo motivo il valore della collezione di carte è diminuito proprio oggi ed ha fatto registrare una differenza di valore negativa: -26$.

Dall'operazione di Harvest si ottengono i token SEST.
I token SEST possono essere messi in stake per ottenere una ricompensa in token CBIT giornaliera.

Per avere una fattoria autosufficiente in grado di raccogliere ricompense senza dover acquistare token CBIT per effettuare le ricariche di cibo e acqua ho acquistato 14970 token SEST che ho messo in stake all'interno della sezione Wallet di Farming Tales.

Ho aggiunto anche tutti i token SEST che ho ottenuto dalle operazioni di Harvest alla Pool dei token SEST stacked per un totale di 15594 SEST.
Oggi 2 febbraio 2022, 15594 token SEST in stacked permettono di ottenere 7.46 token CBIT al giorno il cui valore in dollari è di 0.45$.

Per acquistare 14970 token SEST ho utilizzato l'exchange Alchor e ho speso 195 WAX.

Profit e ROI

E' arrivato il momento di fare un pò di calcoli e confrontare costi e ricavi.

Ho creato un prospetto per mostrare e monitorare i risultati finanziari dell'investimento su Farming Tales che gestisco per Cartel.

Come puoi vedere dai dati nell'immagine seguente il valore del Profitto e del ROI sono negativi anche se piccoli:

• Profit: - 114 WAX = - 37.14S
• ROI: - 10.17%

Un ROI negativo ma con solo due giorni di raccolta delle ricompense

L'investimento su Farming Tales da parte di OneUp Cartel ha solo due giorni effettivi di attività.
Il ROI negativo è dovuto alla diminuzione di valore degli assets di Farming Tales registrato in particolare nella giornata di oggi 2 febbraio.

Fino alle 12:00 AM del 2 febbraio il prezzo più basso di una carta Stable era di 60 WAX
Oggi una carta Stable ha un prezzo sul mercato di 40 WAX.
Il 30 gennaio ho acquistato una carta Harlequin Cow al prezzo di 92 WAX
Oggi una carta Harlequin Cow ha un prezzo di mercato di 123 WAX.

Farming Tales è un gioco giovane e in piena fase di sviluppo e miglioramento e le oscillazioni di prezzo e valore degli assets sono relativamente ampie nel brevissimo periodo.

Il dato che secondo me è importante non è il ROI negativo ma il valore delle ricompense raccolte in due giorni di operatività (Harverst).
Infatti nonostante una perdita che io considero iniziale e temporanea: -114.64 WAX, in soli due giorni il valore delle ricompense ottenute è stato di 10.58 WAX.

Se i valori degli assets di Farming Tales rimarranno uguali a quelli attuali saranno necessari meno di 22 giorni per raggiungere il punto di pareggio.

Avendo acquistato carte in momenti successivi il guadagno per giorno è già in aumento: 1.445$ (immagine seguente)

Ipotizzando che i valori degli assets di Farming Tales il guadagno giornaliero attuale porterebbe ad un guadagno annuale di 527.53$

Ovviamente questo guadagno sarà maggiore se i token SEST, i token CBIT e gli NFT aumenteranno il loro valore in futuro e sarà minore nel caso contrario.

Conclusione

Se avessi redatto questo report ieri avrei registrato un profitto ma sono contento di averlo redatto oggi perchè i risultati anche se negativi mostrano le dinamiche di un gioco di farming come Farming Tales che ha solo pochi mesi di vita ed è in continuo sviluppo.

Pochi giorni fa sono state introdotte tante migliorie al gioco e alla sua interfaccia grafica.
L'operazione di Harvest ad esempio è molto più semplice e immediata da fare rispetto a prima.

Con i prezzi attuali di alcuni NFT è un buon momento secondo me per continuare ad investire cercando di cogliere le migliori occasioni.

Nel wallet di 1carteltales ho ancora 456 WAX da investire.

Inizierò da subito a utilizzare un'altra parte del budget messomi a disposizione per acquistare le combinazioni di carte che garantiscono il profitto stimato annuale migliore ;)
