After the change to the Ranked Rewards mechanism with the introduction of the new Focus Daily and Reward Points based on Rshares points another change is about to arrive that has been long awaited by all Splinterlands players including me: the subdivision of ranked battles into two formats: Modern Format and Wild Format.

As communicated by Splinterlands in post published on June 29, 2022 the split between Modern Format and Wild Format will be introduced in July as soon as the testing season is over:

The long awaited Modern & Wild rollout will be coming in July and is currently undergoing internal testing.

The two formats will have DEC Reward Pools and separate leaderboards.
Each player will be free to be able to choose whether to compete for rewards from only one format or to compete for rewards from both formats.

The major difference between the two formats will be determined by the type of cards that can be used.

The Wild Format will be identical to the only format currently present and active.

In ranked battles of the Wild Format may be used cards from all editions with the exception of Gladius cards that can only be used in Brawls:

• Alpha
• Beta
• Promo
• Reward
• Untamed
• Dice
• Chaos Legion

Only cards from the following collections may be used in ranked battles of the Modern Format:

• Untamed
• Dice
• Chaos Legion
• A subset of the Reward and Promo cards.

As for cards from the Reward and Promo editions, only cards that have the same style frame as the Untamed and Chaos Legion collections will be able to be used in the Modern Format.

To search and view cards that can be used in the Modern Format I prefer to use the useful Peakmonsters site (https://peakmonsters.com/), which speeds up the search operation a lot compared to the Splinterlands site and also gives a lot of additional information in one screen and in a compact form.

In fact within the My Cards, Buy and Rent sections of PeakMonsters is the Format filter that allows you to view all the cards that will be usable in the New Format.

Combining multiple filters allows you to narrow down the search even more.
For example, if within the Buy section I use the filters shown in the following image I can display all the cards from the Chaos Legion edition that are purchasable and usable in the New Format, that have the Stun ability, and that belong to the Earth element.

Reward and Promo cards that can be used in the New Format

In the following image you can see the Promo cards that can be used in the new format which are:

• Halfling Alchemist
• Waka Spiritblade
• Mighty Dricken

To the list of Promo cards that can be used in Modern Format will also be added two cards that currently belong to other editions but will become Promo cards:

• Doctor Blight: will move from the Chaos Legion edition to the Promo edition.
• Chain Golem: will move from the Untamed edition to the Promo edition.

All Promo cards allow you to get a bonus of 10% on the DEC token reward for each battle won, and so both Doctor Blight and Chain Golem will acquire this benefit in the future.

New Format and Collection Power

Regarding Collection Power requirements for access to the leagues of the two formats:

• the Wild Format will maintain the current Collection Power requirements.
• the Modern Format will have Collection Power requirements reduced by half compared to the Wild Format requirements.

Although the CP requirements for league access will be different for the two formats the Collection Power score will remain unique and will be as now the result of the sum of the power score of all cards from all editions.

Your account will still have only a single Collection Power score, which is the sum of the Power of all individual cards in your collection. There will not be a separate Collection Power score for the two formats as far as league advancement is concerned (though as mentioned above, the thresholds for advancing will be different for each format).

For example, a player who will have a Power score of 200000 points will be able to advance:

• up to the Gold League I in the Wild Format
• up to the Diamond I league in the Modern Format.

The Energy Capture Rate

The only element in common between the Modern Format and Wild Format will be the Energy Capture Rate.

The ECR in common between the two formats will be an important element in the management of the two formats and will also be an incentive to improve the battle strength of one's card collection because a higher win rate will correspond to the possibility of receiving more rewards.

The management of ECR will be of particular importance to players who want to be competitive in both formats.

Final Considerations

To recap with the New Format and Wild Format split there will be:

• 2 types of Ranked Battle
• 1 daily Focus missions
• 1 end-of-season reward
• 2 leaderboards
• 2 rating scores
• 1 Collection Power score
• Different Collection Power requirements for access to the leagues of the two formats
• 1 Energy Capture Rate

I have tried to summarize and schematize the differences between the two formats in a diagram (image below).

In my card collection I have 345 cards (2411 BCX) from the Beta, Promo and Rewards editions that I use very often in battle and will not be able to use in Modern Format including the summoners Daria Dragonscale, Alric Stormbringer and Delwin Dragonscale and the monster cards Ruler Of The Seas, Gold Dragon, Silvershield Assassin, Cerberus, Gelatinous Cube...

When the Wild Format and Modern Format splits are introduced, I would like to be competitive in the competitions of both formats, and to be competitive I must continue to increase the battle strength of my card collection through optimization which consists of:

• buying cards that I think are useful in battle.
• selling cards that are of little use in battle and/or that I never use in battle
• selling cards that are objectively useful in battle but only at a certain level and that for some reason (almost always economic) I am not going to upgrade

In my collection, I have 3950 cards (11506 BCX) that can be used in the Modern Format and I have upgraded some cards such as Silent Sha-vi, Hill Giant, Cruel Sethropod and Tenyii Striker to maximum level.

If I want to be competitive even in the Modern Format I must continue to upgrade the cards of the Untamed and Chaos Legion editions that I consider useful in battle, and above all, I must upgrade the summoners of the Chaos Legion edition that I currently have at fifth level but would like to bring all of them up to maximum level.

Today I used the My Cards section of Peakmonsters to select and put up for sale 176 cards that I have in my collection but do not use in battle.
The market value of the cards I put up for sale is $656.57 which based on the current value of DEC tokens corresponds to a value of 1116279 DEC tokens.
I will use the income I am able to obtain from my sale operations to upgrade and purchase cards that can be used in the Modern Format.

Today I also placed purchase bids from the Buy section of Peakmonsters but my purchase and upgrade goals will be the topic of my next post.

I really like the idea of splitting Ranked Battle into two formats because the choice will double as the fun will double ;)

Dopo la modifica al meccanismo delle Ranked Rewards con l'introduzione delle nuove Focus Daily e dei Reward Points basati sui punti Rshares sta per arrivare un'altra modifica molto attesa da tutti i giocatori di Splinterlands compreso me: la suddivisione delle battaglie classificate in due formati: Modern Format e Wild Format.

Come comunicato da Splinterlands nel post pubblicato il 29 giugno 2022 la suddivisione tra Modern Format e Wild Format sarà introdotta nel mese di luglio non appena sarà terminata la stagione di test:

I due formati avranno DEC Reward Pool e classifiche separate e ogni giocatore sarà libero di poter scegliere se competere per le ricompense di un solo formato o se competere per ottenere i premi di entrambi i formati.

La differenza sostanziale tra i due formati sarà determinata dalla tipologia di carte che potranno essere utilizzate.

Il Wild Format sarà identico all'unico formato attualmente presente e attivo.

Nelle battaglie classificate del Wild Format potranno essere utilizzate le carte di tutte le edizioni ad esclusione delle carte Gladius che possono essere utilizzate solo nelle Brawls:

• Alpha
• Beta
• Promo
• Reward
• Untamed
• Dice
• Chaos Legion

Nelle battaglie classificate del Modern Format potranno essere utilizzate solo le carte delle collezioni:

• Untamed
• Dice
• Chaos Legion
• Un sottoinsieme delle carte Reward e Promo

Per quanto riguarda le carte delle edizioni Reward e Promo, nel Modern Format potranno essere utilizzate solo le carte che hanno lo stesso style frame delle collezioni Untamed e Chaos Legion.

Per ricercare e visualizzare le carte utilizzabili nel Modern Format io preferisco usare l'utile sito di Peakmonsters che velocizza di molto l'operazione di ricerca rispetto al sito di Splinterlands e permette anche di avere tante informazioni aggiuntive in un'unica schermata e in forma compatta.

Infatti all'interno delle sezioni My Cards, Buy e Rent di PeakMonsters c'è il filtro Format che permette di visualizzare tutte le carte che saranno utilizzabili nel New Format.

La combinazione di più filtri permette di restringere ancora di più la ricerca.
Ad esempio se all'interno della sezione Buy utilizzo i filtri indicati nell'immagine seguente posso visualizzare tutte le carte dell'edizione Chaos Legion che sono acquistabili e utilizzabili nel New Format, che hanno l'abilità Stun e che appartengono all'elemento Terra.

Carte Reward e Promo utilizzabili nel New Format

Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere le carte Promo utilizzabili nel nuovo formato che sono:

• Halfling Alchemist
• Waka Spiritblade
• Mighty Dricken

Alla lista delle carte Promo utilizzabili nel Modern Format si aggiungeranno anche due carte che attualmente appartengo ad altre edizioni ma che diventeranno carte Promo:

• Chain Golem: passerà dall'edizione Untamed all'edizione Promo

Tutte le carte Promo permettono di ottenere un bonus del 10% sulla ricompensa in token DEC per ogni battaglia vinta e quindi sia Doctor Blight che Chain Golem acquisiranno questo beneficio in futuro.

New Format and Collection Power

Per quanto riguarda i requisiti di Punteggio Collection Power per l'accesso alle leghe dei due formati:

• il Wild Format manterrà i requisiti di Collection Power attuali
• il Modern Format avrà requisiti di Collection Power ridotti della metà rispetto ai requisiti del Wild Format

Anche se i requisiti di CP per l'accesso alle leghe saranno diversi per i due formati il punteggio Collection Power rimarrà unico e sarà come adesso il risultato della somma del punteggio power di tutte le carte di tutte le edizioni.

Your account will still have only a single Collection Power score, which is the sum of the Power of all individual cards in your collection. There will not be a separate Collection Power score for the two formats as far as league advancement is concerned (though as mentioned above, the thresholds for advancing will be different for each format).

Ad esempio un giocatore che avrà un punteggio Power di 200000 punti potrà avanzare:

• fino alla lega Gold I nel Wild Format
• fino alla lega Diamond I nel Modern Format

L'Energy Capture Rate

L'unico elemento in comune tra le modalità Modern Format e Wild Format sarà l'Energy Capture Rate.

L'ECR in comune tra i due formati sarà un elememto importante nella gestione dei due formati e sarà anche un incentivo a migliorare la forza in battaglia della propria collezione di carte perchè ad un maggiore win rate corrisponderà la possibilità di ricevere un maggior numero di premi.

La gestione dell'ECR sarà di particolare importanza per i giocatori che vorranno essere competitivi in entrambi i formati.

Considerazioni Finali

Ricapitolando con la suddivisione New Format e Wild Format ci saranno:

• 2 tipologie di Ranked Battle
• 1 missione Focus giornaliera
• 1 ricompense di fine stagione
• 2 leaderboards
• 2 punteggi di rating
• 1 punteggio di Collection Power
• Requisiti di Collection Power diversi per l'accesso alle leghe dei due formati
• 1 Energy Capture Rate

Ho cercato di sintetizzare e schematizzare le differenze tra i due formati in uno schema (immagine seguente).

Nella mia collezione di carte ho 345 carte (2411 BCX) delle edizioni Beta, Promo e Rewards che utilizzo molto spesso in battaglia e che non potrò utilizzare nel Modern Format tra cui gli evocatori Daria Dragonscale, Alric Stormbringer e Delwin Dragonscale e le carte mostro Ruler Of The Seas, Gold Dragon, Silvershield Assassin, Cerberus, Gelatinous Cube...

Quando sarà introdotta la suddivisione Wild Format e Modern Format mi piacerebbe essere competitivo nelle competizioni di entrambi i formati e per esserlo devo continuare ad aumentare la forza in battaglia della mia collezione di carte tramite un'attività di ottimizzazione che consiste nel:

• acquistare carte che secondo me sono utili in battaglia
• vendere le carte che sono poco utili in battaglia e/o che non utilizzo mai in battaglia
• vendere le carte che sono oggettivamente utili in battaglia ma solo ad un determinato livello e che per qualche motivo (quasi sempre di natura economica) non ho intenzione di potenziare

Nella mia collezione ho 3950 carte (11506 BCX) utilizzabili nel Modern Format e ho portato al massimo livello alcune carte come Silent Sha-vi, Hill Giant, Cruel Sethropod e Tenyii Striker.

Se voglio essere competitivo anche nel Modern Format devo continuare a potenziare le carte delle edizioni Untamed e Chaos Legion che ritengo utili in battaglia e soprattutto devo potenziare gli evocatori dell'edizione Chaos Legion che ho attualmente al quinto livello ma che vorrei portare tutti al massimo livello.

Oggi ho utilizzato la sezione My Cards di Peakmonsters per selezionare e mettere in vendita 176 carte che ho nella mia collezione ma che non uso in battaglia.
Il valore di mercato delle carte che ho messo in vendita è di 656.57$ che in base al valore attuale dei token DEC corrispondono ad un valore di 1116279 token DEC.
Utilizzerò il ricavato che riuscirò ad ottenere dalle mie operazioni di vendita per potenziare e acquistare carte utilizzabili nel Modern Format.

Oggi ho anche piazzato delle offerte di acquisto BID dalla sezione Buy di Peakmonsters ma i miei obiettivi di acquisto e potenziamento saranno l'argomento del mio prossimo post.

Mi piace molto l'idea di suddividere le Ranked Battle in due formati perchè la possibilità di scelta raddoppierà come raddoppierà il divertimento ;)
