My Road To Champion Leagues and My Card Collection Optimization
I play several blockchain-based games but Splinterlands, in addition to being my favorite blockchain game, is also the game that has the most assets (NFTs and tokens).
So many assets offer the possibility to choose between different investment strategies.
In fact, it is possible to invest in Splinterlands without necessarily having to play the game.
For example who has a Hive account and buys a quantity of DEC tokens receives daily rewards because he participates in the airdrop of Splintershards tokens (SPS).
Whoever is staking SPS tokens receives a daily amount of VOUCHER tokens that they can use to purchase packs of Chaos Legion cards or that they can sell in exchange for SWAP.HIVE tokens or other tokens.
The possibilities of gain and investment that Splinterlands offers are many but at the base there is a strategy game in which the cards (NFT) play an important role.
I really enjoy playing Splinterlands and completing the daily mission is a pleasant habit that I have been doing regularly for more than 27 months.
Among the many goals I have within the Splinterlands game I decided to set a main goal: return to League Champion!
My goal: Return to the Champion leagues
I wrote "return" and not "arrive" in the Champion league because before the introduction of the Collection Power requirement, finishing the season in the Champion league was an established habit for me.
At that time it was enough to enter the Champion league to have a few good level summoners and some legendary cards very useful in battle.
I entered the Chiampion III league for the first time on May 31, 2020.
The first time I was able to enter the Champion I league was July 29, 2020 and to celebrate that event I published a post on my beloved Hive:
My card collection had a power score of only 183000 points.
In the following images you can see the cards I was using the most at that time.
The combination of cards that allowed me to win the most battles was as follows:
- Delwin Dragoncale
- Gold Dragon
- Ruler Of The Seas
- Spirit Miner
Today the level of competition has increased a lot and the combination of cards that I listed above allows you to get to the maximum in the Gold league.
In fact, in July 2020 to get into Champion I, no legendary summoners were required, no top level summoners were required, and no top level legendary cards were required.
With the introduction of the collection power requirement my collection of cards, even if still strong enough in battle, could no longer access the Champion leagues because the access requirement was 500000 power points while I had a score just below 200000 points.
However, the power score requirement was not an insurmountable obstacle to overcome, and on the contrary proved to be an easily surmountable requirement thanks to the very useful PeakMonsters site and the possibility of renting cards from other players.
In fact, Peakmonsters made it possible to rent and lease Splinterlands cards long before the introduction of Splinterlands' in-game rental system.
For example, the Gold Dragon card from the Alpha collection (level 4) that cost only $80 on September 14, 2020 could be rented at a cost of only $0.04 per day.
Only $0.04 per day to increase the Power Score by 25200 points with a Collection Power/$ ratio of 630000 points.
Today, rental prices are much higher than they were on September 14, 2020, and renting a day's worth of Gold Dragon level 4 from the Alpha collection costs 700 DEC per day which equates to a dollar cost of $2,473.
For many months my end-of-season strategy was based on renting cards during the last two to three days of the season.
I stopped this strategy when SPS tokens were introduced and when Splinterlands quickly increased the number of active players.
Renting cards had become too expensive and above all it had become an activity with a negative expected profit, so I stopped applying my end of season strategy and gave up my usual fortnightly race to the Champion league.
I preferred to rent my cards to other players instead of renting cards from other players.
Today I have decided to resume my regular run to the Champion league because I have many more cards in my collection than in the past and the goal Champion league could be reachable.
On the first day of the general sale of the Chaos Legion collection I bought 747 packs of cards and to date I have opened 730 packs.
With my latest investment I have added 3650 cards to my card collection and now my Power Score is over 500000 points.
I've passed the first requirement to enter the Champion league, but now I have to try to meet the second requirement: reach a rating score of at least 3700 points.
In order to reach my goal (rating score >= 3700 points) I had to necessarily increase the battle strength of my card collection.
Today there are many more cards than in the past and many have very strong battle stats.
With the release of the new Chaos Legion card collection more than seven million card packs have been sold, more than three million card packs have been opened, and nearly 17 million cards have been added to player collections.
My Card Collection Optimization
The cards in the Chaos Legion collection are on average stronger than the cards in previous collections.
In order to achieve my goal I need to purchase new cards and upgrade the ones I have in my collection.
The first card I decided to upgrade is Queen Mycelia.
I combined 6 level 1 Queen Mycelia cards to add Amplify and Triage abilities to the Protect ability.
Queen Mycelia level 1 is a card that is not very useful in battle but when it reaches level 3 becomes very useful in battle and becomes even more useful when used in combination with summoners that have the ability to increase magic attack such as with my summoners: Obsidian and Delwin Dragonscale.
I will be looking to upgrade all of the summoners of the new Chaos Legion collection but I will initially focus on three summoners in particular: Obsidian, Tarsa and General Sloan.
I will proceed in steps and on a single summoner basis.
The first summoner I will upgrade will be Obsidian which is the summoner I like the most among those in the Chaos Legion collection.
Today February 16 Obsidian max level (combination of 115 level 1 cards) has a cost of $457.50.
To upgrade my card collection as quickly as possible:
- I will sell all the VOUCHER tokens I receive daily to purchase new cards.
- I will sell all the cards that I do not use in battle to buy cards useful in battle.
Buying new cards will allow me to increase my Power score but will produce many positive effects linked together:
Splinterlands assets are all interconnected and all have more utility.
Conclusion
With today's post I wanted to share my main goal on Splinterlands: return to at least the Champion III league.
I may choose to rent my cards instead of using them in battle but playing on Splinterlands is an activity I enjoy and starting this season I will try to at least come close to my goal.
Returning to the Champion League will not be easy, it will take time and especially I will have to make several purchases in the market but I'm sure that I will have fun.

Any game that involves the purchase of cards and tokens is never a simple game but it is also an investment and should be considered as such.
I am not a financial consultant and if you decide to invest in the game of Splinterlands you do it for your own choice, after having made your personal evaluations and considered all possible risk factors.
My advice is to always invest only what you can afford to lose with a light heart.

Chi mette in staking i token SPS riceve ogni giorno un quantitativo di token VOUCHER che può utilizzare per l'acquisto di pacchi di carte Chaos Legion o che può vendere in cambio di token SWAP.HIVE o di altri token.
Le possibilità di guadagno e di investimento che offre Splinterlands sono molte ma alla base c'è un gioco di strategia in cui le carte (NFT) svolgono un ruolo importante.
Giocare a Splinterlands mi piace molto e completare la missione giornaliera è diventata una piacevole abitudine che svolgo con regolarità da più di 27 mesi.
Tra i tanti obiettivi che ho all'interno del gioco di Splinterlands ho deciso di di fissare un obiettivo principale: ritornare in lega Champion!
Obiettivo: Ritorno in Champion
Ho scritto ritornare e non arrivare in lega Champion perchè prima dell'introduzione del requisito del Collection Power terminare la stagione in lega Champion era per me una consuetudine consolidata.
A quel tempo era sufficiente per entrare in lega Champion avere pochi evocatori di buon livello e alcune carte leggendarie molto utili in battaglia.
Sono entrato in lega Chiampion III per la prima volta il 31 maggio 2020.
La prima volta che sono riuscito ad entrare in lega Champion I era invece il 29 luglio del 2020 e per festeggiare quell'evento ho pubblicato un post sulla mia amata Hive:
La mia collezione di carte aveva un punteggio power di soli 183000 punti.
Nelle immagini seguenti puoi vedere le carte che utilizzavo di più in quel periodo.
La cobinazione di carte che mi permetteva di vincere il maggior numero di battaglie era la seguente:
- Delwin Dragoncale
- Gold Dragon
- Ruler Of The Seas
- Spirit Miner
Oggi il livello della competizione è aumentato molto e la combinazione di carte che ho elencato sopra permette di arrivare al massimo in lega Gold.
Infatti a luglio 2020 per entrare in Champion I non erano necessari evocatori leggendari, non erano necessari evocatori di massimo livello e non erano necessarie carte leggendarie di massimo livello.
Con l'introduzione del requisito del collection power la mia collezione di carte anche se ancora abbastanza forte in battaglia non poteva più accedere alle leghe Champion perchè il requisito di accesso alle leghe Champion era di 500000 punti power mentre io avevo un punteggio di poco inferiore a 200000 punti.
Il requisito del punteggio power non era però un ostacolo insormontabile da superare e al contrario si è dimostrato un requisito facilmente superabile grazie all'utilissimo sito di PeakMonsters e alla possibilità di noleggiare le carte dagli altri giocatori.
Infatti Peakmonsters ha permesso di dare in noleggio e di prendere in noleggio le carte di Splinterlands molto prima dell'introduzione del sistema di noleggio interno al gioco di Splinterlands.
Ad esempio la carta Gold Dragon della collezione Alpha (livello 4) che il 14 settembre 2020 costava solo 80$ poteva essere noleggiata ad un costo di soli 0.04$ al giorno.
Solo 0.04$ al giorno per aumentare il punteggio power di 25200 punti con un rapporto Collection Power/$ di 630000 punti.
Oggi i prezzi di noleggio sono molto più alti rispetto al 14 settembre 2020 e noleggiare per un giorno Gold Dragon di livello 4 della collezione Alpha ha un costo di 700 DEC al giorno che equivale ad un costo in dollari di 2.473$.
Per molti mesi la mia strategia di fine stagione si è basata sul noleggio delle carte durante gli ultimi due-tre giorni della stagione.
Ho interrotto questa strategia quando sono stati introdotti i token SPS e quando Splinterlands ha aumentato in poco tempo il numero dei giocatori attivi.
Noleggiare le carte era diventato troppo costoso e soprattutto era diventata un'attività con profitto atteso negativo e per questo ho interrotto l'applicazione della mia strategia di fine stagione e ho rinunciato alla mia usuale e quindicinale corsa alla lega Champion.
Ho preferito dare in noleggio le mie carte ad altri giocatori invece di prenderle a noleggio e mi sono accontentato di arrivare in lega Gold I.
Oggi ho deciso di riprendere la mia corsa staginale alla lega Champion perchè ho molte più carte nella mia collezione e l'obiettivo lega Champion potrebbe essere raggiungibile.
Il primo giorno della general sale della collezione Chaos Legion ho comprato 747 pacchi di carte Chaos Legion e fino ad oggi ne ho aperti 730.
Con il mio ultimo investimento ho aggiunto 3650 carte alla mia collezione di carte e adesso il mio punteggio Power è superiore ai 500000 punti.
Ho quindi superato il primo requisito per accedere alla lega Champion ma adesso devo cercare di soddisfare anche il secondo requisito: raggiungere un punteggio di rating di almeno 3700 punti.
Per raggiungere il mio obiettivo (punteggio di rating >= 3700 punti) devo necessariamente aumentare la forza in battaglia della mia collezione di carte.
Oggi ci sono molte più carte rispetto al passato e molte hanno statistiche di battaglia molto forti.
Con il rilascio della nuova collezione di carte Chaos Legion più di sette milioni di pacchi di carte sono stati venduti, più di tre milioni di pacchi di carte sono stati aperti e quasi 17 milioni di carte sono state aggiunte alle collezioni dei giocatori.
Le carte della collezione Chaos Legion sono mediamente più forti delle carte delle collezioni precedenti.
Per raggiungere il mio obiettivo devo acquistare nuove carte e potenziare quelle che ho nella mia collezione.
La prima carta che ho deciso di potenziare è Queen Mycelia.
Ho combinato 6 carte Queen Mycelia di livello 1 per aggiungere all'abilità Protect le abilità Amplify e Triage.
Queen Mycelia di livello 1 è una carta poco utile in battaglia ma quando raggiunge il livello 3 diventa molto utile in battaglia e diventa ancora più utile se utilizzata in combinazione con gli evocatori che hanno l'abilità di aumentare l'attacco magico come ad esempio con i miei evocatori: Obsidian e Delwin Dragonscale.
Cercherò di potenziare tutti gli evocatori della nuova collezione Chaos Legion ma mi concentrerò inizialmente su tre evocatori in particolare: Obsidian, Tarsa e General Sloan.
Procederò per gradi e per singolo evocatore.
Il primo evocatore che potenzierò sarà Obsidian che è l'evocatore che mi piace di più tra quelli della collezione Chaos Legion.
Oggi 16 febbrario Obsidian di livello massimo (combinazione di 115 carte di livello 1) ha un costo di 457.50$.
Per potenziare la mia collezione di carte nel modo più veloce possibile:
- venderò tutti i token VOUCHER che riceverò giornalmente per acquistare nuove carte
- venderò tutte le carte che non utilizzo in battaglia per comprare carte utili in battaglia.
Acquistare nuove carte mi permetterà di aumentare il mio punteggio Power ma produrrà molti effetti positivi concatenati:
Gli assets di Splinterlands sono tutti collegati tra di loro e hanno tutti più utilità.
Conclusione
Con il post di oggi ho voluto condividere il mio obiettivo principale su Splinterlands: ritornare almeno nella lega Champion III.
Potrei scegliere di noleggiare le mie carte invece di utilizzarle in battaglia ma giocare su Splinterlands è un'attività che mi piace e già a partire dalla stagione in corso proverò quanto meno ad avvicinarmi al mio obiettivo.
Ritornare in lega Champion non sarà facile, ci vorrà del tempo e soprattutto dovrò fare diversi acquisti sul mercato ma sono sicuro che comunque vada mi divertirò.

I think you did well to rent your gold dragon because even though rental prices have dropped it is still more profitable to rent than to play.
The 700 DEC price was relative to the last day of the season.
Today for example the lowest rental price is 65 DEC.
I like to play and that's why I decided to keep the strongest cards.

Wow, you got some really awesome high-level cards. Chaos cards are indeed, and most of all a lot cheaper.
Good luck with returning to the Champions League! Glad that your vouchers were able to contribute to your card collection.
It's no easy task thats for sure but champions is always nice. Simply awesome rewards up there at the top. Use to be there myself before Untamed time to level back up again! Good plan on the cards some really good options to keep costs down but pack some serious power.
Good to read posts from gamers who play at higher league. This at least gives me an idea what to expect and what to prepare in case I climb the ladder years from now. My immediate goal is to reach Gold III.
