I became a Splinterlands player on October 18, 2019 and today April 20, 2022 is 30 months and two days later.
In 30 months I have played over 16000 battles and written and published 290 Splinterlands related posts on my Hive blog.
After 30 months Splinterlands is still my favorite blockchain game and I like both playing and writing content.

Once a month I like to write and share the financial report of my investment in Splinterlands.
Writing a financial report is particularly useful for me because it allows me to:

• monitor my investment in Splinterlands
• control and keep track of the trend of the value of Splinterlands assets over time
• evaluate possible future investment strategies
• show the potential of a game based on blockchain and also show the many possibilities of gain / investment that offers Splinterlands with its many assets (NFT and tokens).
• promote and make known the blockchain of Hive to those who do not know it because I share my posts about Splinterlands also on traditional and centralized social networks

Final Result Previous Report

The starting point for each of my financial reports on Splinterlands is, of course, the result I recorded in my previous monthly report, a report I published on March 7, 2022.

In my previous report, I recorded the following financial results:

• profit: +$25621.47
• ROI: +4146.74%.

Today it's been 44 days since I checked and added up the value of the Splinterlands assets in my possession and it's time to see if the financial results have improved or worsened from the financial results I recorded in my previous report.

Evaluation of Splinterlands as an Investment

(30 months later)

To evaluate my investment in Splinterlands, I need to compare the total value of costs I've incurred to date with the total value of revenues I've earned to date.

Total investment cost

The total cost of my investment on Splinterlands is given by the following sum:

Registration Cost (Summoner Spellbook: $10) + Total Cost of Cards and Card Packs Purchased + Total Cost of Tokens Purchased (DEC, SPS, VOUCHER) + Total Cost of Plots Purchased

Note: When calculating the total cost of my investment in Splinterlands I only consider the costs I incurred by injecting external cash into the game.

From March 7, 2022 to today I have continued to invest in the purchase of cards and tokens but I have used assets I already own (NFT and DEC tokens) to make purchases and have not injected external cash into the Splinterlands game.
For this reason the total cost of my investment on Splinteralnds has remained unchanged from 44 days ago: $617.87.

Total Revenue Value = Total Assets Value

The total revenues I got by investing on Splinterlands is the result of the sum of the market value of all the assets I own (NFT and tokens).

The value of my card collection

I like to play Splinterlands and in order to win battles against other players it is important to build a collection of cards that have a good strength in battle and for this reason among all the assets of Splinterlands I have always considered the playing cards (NFTs) one of the most important assets and on which I have focused more.

My card collection consists of 4856 cards and 11674 BCX.

Fortunately I don't need to manually calculate the value of my card collection because there are several tools that perform this calculation automatically.
I use the My Cards section of the Peakmonsters website (https://peakmonsters.com/) that calculates the value of my card collection based on two values:

• List Prices
• Market Prices.

Between the two values I consider for my report the lower value between the two that is the value based on market prices.

As displayed within the My Cards section of Peakmonsters (https://peakmonsters.com/@libertycrypto27/cards) the current value of my card collection is 17492.66$ (Market Prices - April 20, 2022).

Compared to 44 days ago, the value of my card collection has decreased by -19.36%.

It's obvious that I would have preferred an increase in value instead of a decrease but this -19.36% doesn't worry me because I always look at the medium-long term and if the cards cost less than in the past I have the opportunity to buy useful cards in battle at lower prices ;)

The value of my DEC tokens

DEC (Dark Energy Crystal) tokens are the native tokens of the Splinterlands game, they are second level tokens of the Hive blockchain and are utility tokens because they have so many use cases.

The main way to get DEC tokens is through battle victories but you can also get them in many other ways:

• inside the reward chests of daily missions
• in the end-of-season reward chests
• from renting cards
• from selling cards
• by adding liquidity to a pool

In my In-Game wallet I have a total amount of 75464,207 DEC tokens.
In my Hive Engine/TribalDex wallet I have 21942,103 DEC tokens.

The sum of the above two values is not the total DEC tokens I have because I use the Diesel Pool SWAP.HIVE:DEC (APR: 3.584% - BXT APR:1.558%) within which I have a total of 27370,312 DEC tokens.

Therefore the total amount of DEC tokens in my possession is the sum of the previous three values: 124776,622 units (75464,207+21942,103+27370,312).

Today 20 April 2022, 1 DEC token has a value of 0.001739 SEAP.HIVE = $0.001603 and the value of 124776,622 DEC token is 200.06$ (Highest Bid on LeoDex/HiveEngine/TribalDex)

Sales of DEC tokens on Hive Engine

I have always reinvested all the rewards I got from playing Splinterlands mainly to increase the number of cards I own except on one occasion (October 5, 2020) when I sold 81000 DEC tokens to do a Power Up of 400 HP on my beloved Hive.

Today April 20, 2022 400 HIVE tokens have a value of $368.80.

The value of my PLOT tokens

On November 21, 2020 I purchased 3 PLOTS and used DEC tokens as my payment method for the purchase: 7500 DEC per plot.

To buy 3 Plots I spent a total of 22500 DEC whose value in $ at the time of purchase was 19.66 $ while today 22500 DEC have a value of 36.08$.

PLOT tokens have all been sold and long gone.

To calculate the value of the 3 PLOT tokens in my possession I consider the value of the best bid on https://tribaldex.com/trade/PLOT that is 261 SWAP.HIVE = 304.81$ (Highest Bid)

The total value of the three PLOT tokens in my possession is therefore: 261 SWAP.HIVE * 3 plots = 783 SWAP.HIVE = 721.93$ (previous report value: 914.43$)

The total value of PLOT tokens in my possession has decreased in 44 days by the following values:

• -21.05%
• -192.50$

Farms: DEC-USBD LP (V2) and SWAP.HIVE:DEC

Before discovering the Diesel Pools on the Hive blockchain I was using the DEC-USBD LP (V2) farm on the DEFI platform created by Leofinance (https://leofinance.io/) which is called CubFinance (https://cubdefi.com/).

Adding liquidity to the DEC-BUSD LP farm earned me: 13,242 CUB tokens (Farm V1) + 3.04 CUB tokens (Farm V2)= 16,282 CUB tokens = 16,282 * $0.151 = $2.45.

Today I use only the Diesel Pool SWAP.HIVE:DEC at https://tribaldex.com/dieselpools/pools.
Adding liquidity to the SWAP.HIVE:DEC pool allows me to double the DEC token score for the daily airdrop of SPS tokens.

In fact, the 27498 DEC tokens I entered into the SWAP.HIVE:DEC pool are worth 54734 points for the airdrop of SPS tokens.

The APR of the pool SWAP.HIVE:DEC is very low (3.6%) and consequently is low the value of the rewards that I have obtained so far and for this reason I decided not to account for the revenues obtained in my report because the calculation would take me a long time.

The value of the token Splintershards (SPS)

The Splintershards (SPS) token airdrop is an annual airdrop with a daily SPS token distribution.
The airdrop of Splintershards (SPS) tokens, the governance tokens at Splinterlands, is ongoing and has exceeded 2/3 of its path: 267 days out of 365 days.

In 267 days I have accumulated a total of 28735,201 SPS tokens whose corresponding dollar value is $3726.58.

I would like to accumulate an amount of at least 50000 SPS tokens before the end of the airdrop.

In 43 days I have increased the amount of SPS tokens in my possession by +4876 units (+20.44%) and also increased the total dollar value of SPS tokens in my possession compared to the value I had recorded in my previous report: +29.53% e +849.58$.

Value of VOUCHER tokens sold and not reinvested

In the last 43 days I have sold 65.76 VOUCHER tokens.
Between February 8, 2022 and April 12, 2022 I sold a total of 111.52 VOUCHER tokens from which I made a total gain of 150.07 SWAP.HIVE = $138.36

I will use this gain to purchase cards from the market with the purpose of increasing the battle strength of my card collection.

Contextually to the writing of this report I have collected all the data that I need to calculate the financial results of my investment on Splinterlands in a period of 30 months.

Final Considerations

In the last 44 days the average value of the assets of Splinterlands has decreased and consequently my profit has also decreased.

Of all the assets in my possession only the SPS tokens have increased in value and in all probability this value will increase in the future because the SPS tokens will have many use cases (this is not financial advice).

The decrease in ROI value and profit from my personal investment in Splinterlands doesn't bother me because Splinterlands is my favorite blockchain game and because if I look around I don't see a blockchain-based trading card game (TCG) project that can compete with Splinterlands.

Furthermore the Splinterlands development team is continuously working to improve the game and in the near future new features will be introduced as you can see from the graphical Roadmap posted on https://docs.splinterlands.com/platform/roadmap (see image below).

Splinterlands, after 30 months of play/investment, is still my favorite blockchain-based game and is also the gaming project I devote the most time to and do so with pleasure.

When I find myself talking or writing about Splinterlands I always like to point out a strength point that Splinterlands has that other blockchain-based games don't: the Hive blockchain.

Hive is a fast blockchain and most importantly has no transaction costs.

Splinterlands' added value is Hive and Hive's added value is the projects built on it, and Splinterlands is the most successful project built and developed on Hive's blockchain.

I still see a lot of potential in the Spinterlands game and in the coming months I will continue to invest with a focus on SPS tokens and most importantly I will continue to increase the battle strength of my card collection by purchasing useful cards in battle.

Sono diventato un giocatore di Splinterlands il 18 ottobre 2019 e oggi 20 aprile 2022 sono passati 30 mesi e un giorno.
In 30 mesi ho giocato più di 16000 battaglie e ho scritto e pubblicato 290 post inerenti a Splinterlands sul mio Hive blog.

Nota: Nel calcolo del costo totale del mio investimento su Splinterlands considero solo i costi che ho sostenuto immettendo liquidità esterna al gioco.

Dal 7 marzo 2022 ad oggi ho continuato ad investire nell'acquisto di carte e token ma ho utilizzato assets già in mio possesso (NFT e token DEC) per effettuare gli acquisti e non ho immesso liquidità esterna nel gioco di Splinterlands.
Per questo motivo il costo totale del mio investimento su Splinteralnds è rimasto invariato rispetto a 43 giorni fa: 617.87$.

Il totale dei ricavi che ho ottenuto investendo su Splinterlands è il risultato della somma del valore di mercato di tutti gli assets in mio possesso (NFT e tokens).

Il valore della mia collezione di carte

Mi piace giocare a Splinterlands e per vincere le battaglie contro gli altri giocatori è importante costruire una collezione di carte che abbia una buona forza in battaglia e per questo motivo tra tutti gli assets di Splinterlands ho sempre considerato le carte di gioco (NFTs) uno degli assets più importanti e su cui ho puntato di più.

La mia collezione di carte è composta da 4856 carte e 11674 BCX.

Fortunatamente non ho bisogno di calcolare manualmente il valore della mia collezione di carte perchè ci sono diversi tool che effettuano questo calcolo in automatico.
Io utilizzo la sezione My Cards del sito di Peakmonsters (https://peakmonsters.com/) che calcola il valore della mia collezione di carte in base a due valori:

• List Prices
• Market Prices

Tra i due valori considero per il mio report il valore più basso tra i due che è il valore in base ai prezzi di mercato.

Come visualizzato all'interno della sezione My Cards di Peakmonsters (https://peakmonsters.com/@libertycrypto27/cards) il valore attuale della mia collezione di carte è di 17492.66$ (Prezzi di Mercato - 20 aprile 2022).

Rispetto a 43 giorni fa il valore della mia collezione di carte è diminuito del -19.36%

E' ovvio che avrei preferito un aumento di valore invece di una diminuzione ma questo -19.36% non mi preoccupa perchè io guardo sempre al medio-lungo termine e se le carte costano di meno rispetto al passato ho l'opportunità di acquistare carte utili in battaglia a prezzi inferiori ;)

Il valore dei miei token DEC

I token DEC (Dark Energy Crystal) sono i token nativi del gioco di Splinterlands, sono token di secondo livello della blockchain di Hive e sono degli utility token perchè hanno tanti casi d'uso.

Il modo principale per ottenere i token DEC è tramite le vittorie in battaglia ma si possono ottenere anche in tanti altri modi:

• all'interno dei forzieri delle ricompense delle missioni giornaliere
• all'interno dei forzieri delle ricompense di fine stagione
• dal noleggio delle carte
• dalla vendita delle carte
• dall'aggiunta di liquidità ad una pool

Nel mio In-Game wallet ho un quantitativo totale di 75464.207 token DEC.
Nel mio wallet su Hive Engine/TribalDex ho 21942.103 token DEC.

La somma dei due valori precedenti non è il totale dei token DEC in mio possesso perchè utilizzo la Diesel Pool SWAP.HIVE:DEC (APR: 3.584% - BXT APR:1.558%) all'interno della quale ho un totale di 27370.312 token DEC.

Per questo motivo il totale dei token DEC in mio possesso è La somma dei tre valori precedenti è il quantitativo dei token DEC in mio possesso: 124776.622 unità (75464.207+21942.103+27370.312).

Oggi 20 aprile 2022, 1 token DEC ha un valore di 0.001739 SEAP.HIVE = 0.001603$ e il valore di 124776.622 token DEC è di 200.06$ (Highest Bid su LeoDex/HiveEngine/TribalDex)

Ricavi dalla vendita dei token DEC su Hive Engine

Ho sempre reinvestito tutte le ricompense che ho ottenuto dal gioco di Splinterlands principalmente per incrementare il numero di carte in mio possesso tranne in un'occasione (5 ottobre 2020) in cui ho venduto 81000 token DEC per fare un Power Up di 400 HP sulla mia amata Hive.

Oggi 20 aprile 2022 400 token HIVE hanno un valore di 368.80$.

Il valore dei miei token PLOT

Il 21 novembre 2020 ho acquistato 3 PLOTS e per l'acquisto ho utilizzato i token DEC come metodo di pagamento: 7500 DEC per plot.

Per acquistare 3 Plot ho speso in totale 22500 DEC il cui valore in $ al momento dell'acquisto era di 19,66 $ mentre oggi 22500 DEC hanno un valore di 36.08$.

I token PLOT sono stati venduti tutti e da molto tempo.

Per calcolare il valore dei 3 token PLOT in mio possesso considero il valore della migliore offerta di acquisto presente su https://tribaldex.com/trade/PLOT che è di 261 SWAP.HIVE = 304.81$ (Highest Bid)

Il valore totale dei tre token PLOT in mio possesso è quindi di: 261 SWAP.HIVE * 3 plots = 783 SWAP.HIVE = 721.93$ (valore report precedente: 914.43$)

Il valore totale dei token PLOT in mio possesso è diminuto in 43 giorni dei seguenti valori:

• -21.05%
• -192.50$

Farms: DEC-USBD LP (V2) e SWAP.HIVE:DEC

Prima di scoprire le Diesel Pools della blockchain di Hive utilizzavo la farm DEC-USBD LP (V2) sulla piattaforma DEFI creata da Leofinance (https://leofinance.io/) che si chiama CubFinance (https://cubdefi.com/).

Aggiungere liquidità alla farm DEC-BUSD LP mi ha fatto guadagnare: 13.242 token CUB (Farm V1) + 3.04 token CUB (Farm V2)= 16.282 token CUB = 16.282 * 0.151$ = 2.45$.

Infatti i 27498 token DEC che ho immesso nella pool SWAP.HIVE:DEC valgono 54734 punti per l'airdrop dei token SPS.

L'APR della pool SWAP.HIVE:DEC è molto basso (3.6%) e di conseguenza è basso anche il valore delle ricompense che ho ottenuto fino ad ora e per questo motivo ho deciso di non contabilizzare i ricavi ottenuti nel mio report perchè il calcolo mi avrebbe richiesto molto tempo.

Il valore dei token Splintershards (SPS)

L'airdrop dei token Splintershards (SPS) è un airdrop di durata annuale che prevede una distribuzione di token SPS giornaliera.
L'airdrop dei token Splintershards (SPS), i token di governance si Splinterlands, è in corso e ha superato i 2/3 del suo percorso: 267 giorni su 365 giorni.

In 267 giorni ho accumulato un totale di 28735.201 token SPS il cui corrispondente valore in dollari è di 3726.58$.

Mi piacerebbe accumulare un quantitativo di almeno 50000 token SPS prima della fine dell'airdrop.

In 43 giorni ho incrementato il quantitativo di token SPS in mio possesso di +4876 unità (+20.44%) ed è aumentato anche il valore totale in dollari dei token SPS in mio possesso rispetto al valore che avevo registrato nel mio report precedente: +29.53% e +849.58$.

Valore dei token VOUCHER venduti e non reinvestiti

Negli ultimi 43 giorni ho venduto 65.76 token VOUCHER.
Tra l'8 febbraio 2022 e il 12 aprile 2022 ho venduto un totale di 111.52 token VOUCHER da cui ho ottenuto un guadagno totale di 150.07 SWAP.HIVE = 138.36$

Utilizzerò questo guadagno per acquistare carte dal mercato con lo scopo di aumentare la forza in battaglia della mia collezione di carte.

Un pò di calcoli...

Contestualmente alla scrittura di questo report ho raccolto tutti i dati che mi servono per calcolare i risultati finaziari del mio investimento su Splinterlands in un periodo di 30 mesi.

Considerazioni Finali

Negli ultimi 43 giorni il valore medio degli assets di Splinterlands ha subito una diminuzione e di conseguenza anche il mio profitto è diminuito.

Tra tutti gli asset in mio possesso solo i token SPS hanno aumentato il loro valore e con molta probabilità questo valore aumenterà in futuro perchè i token SPS avranno molti casi d'uso (non è un consiglio finanziario).

La diminuzione del valore del ROI e del profitto del mio personale investimento su Splinterlands non mi preoccupa perchè Splinterlands è il mio gioco blockchain preferito e perchè se mi guardo intorno non vedo un progetto di trading card game (TCG) basato su blockchain che possa competere con Splinterlands.

Inoltre il team di sviluppo di Splinterlands è continuamente al lavoro per migliorare il gioco e nel prossimo futuro saranno introdotte novità e nuove funzionalità come puoi vedere dalla Roadmap in versione grafica pubblicata su https://docs.splinterlands.com/platform/roadmap (vedi immagine seguente).

Splinterlands, dopo 30 mesi di gioco/investimento, è ancora il mio gioco basato su blockchain preferito ed è anche il progetto di gaming a cui dedico più tempo e lo faccio con piacere.

Quando mi trovo a parlare o scrivere di Splinterlands mi piace sempre sottolineare un punto di forza che ha Splinterlands e che altri giochi basati su blockchain non hanno: la blockchain di Hive.

Hive è una blockchain veloce e soprattutto non ha costi di transazione.

Il valore aggiunto di Splinterlands è Hive e il valore aggiunto di Hive sono i progetti costruiti su di essa e Splinterlands è il progetto di maggior successo costruito e sviluppato sulla blockchain di Hive.

Vedo ancora tanto potenziale nel gioco di Spinterlands e nei prossimi mesi continuerò ad investire con un occhio di riguardo per i token SPS e soprattutto continuerò ad aumentare la forza in battaglia della mia collezione di carte acquistando carte utili in battaglia.

Ogni gioco che prevede l'acquisto di carte e di token non è mai un semplice gioco ma è anche un investimento e come tale va considerato.
