The Splinterlands development team is working towards many development goals as communicated in the post published on April 7, 2022.
At the following web address you can see the Roadmap in a graphical version: https://docs.splinterlands.com/platform/roadmap (see image below).

One of the development goals that will be achieved in the short term will be the division of ranked battles into Wild Format and New Format.
The two formats will have separate Reward Pools and each player will be able to choose whether to compete for rewards from one format or both formats.
All cards from all editions may be used in ranked battles of the Wild Format.

In New Format ranked battles, only cards from the Untamed, Dice and Chaos Legion collections can be used, with the addition of Rewards cards from the Untamed and Choas Legion collections.

When the Wild Format and New Format splits are introduced I would like to be competitive in competitions in both formats, and to be competitive I need to increase the battle strength of my card collection through optimization which consists of:

• buying cards that I think are useful in battle
• selling cards that are not very useful in battle and / or that I never use in battle.
• selling cards that are objectively useful in battle but only at a certain level and that I'm not going to upgrade.

Splinterlands is also a fun and strategic game because every battle is different from every other because:

• every battle has a different opponent
• each battle has more combat rules to respect

Today I want to share my purchase/upgrade goals that will allow me to be more competitive in battles that have a specific battle rule: Little League.

In specific, I will focus on choosing and buying cards that:

• play well in first position
• I can use in battles of the New Format.
• I can use when the battle rule is Little League.

Little League, First Position and New Format:

My buying choices

When in a Splinterlands battle, the rule to follow is Little League only cards that have a mana cost of 4 points or less may be used.
The Little League rule restricts the range of cards that can be used, and this restriction will be even more pronounced in ranked battles in the new format.

In the choice of cards to buy and the level to which to bring them I have a "great friend" who helps me for a long time in every operation of choice, purchase and sale of cards of Splinterlands: PeakMonsters (https://peakmonsters.com/).

Although the division between New Format and Wild Format has not yet been introduced thanks to the Peakmonsters filters, it is possible to display all the cards that can be used in the New Format in three different ways.

In my research of the cards to use in first position when the rule is Little League I started from the visualization of the cards of the neutral element.

I decided to exclude the cards from the Chaos Legion Reward edition because they are cards I can find in chests, so I decided not to buy them for now.

Xenith Monk

Among the Neutral cards, one of the cards that will be able to play well in the first position in the new format and with the Little League battle rule will definitely be Xenith Monk.

Xenith Monk is a rare card from the Chaos Legion edition:

• it is of little use at level 1 because it has only one point of attack and no abilities
• increases its usefulness in battle when it reaches level 2 because it acquires the Heal ability that allows it to heal itself every round of the game.
• She becomes much more useful in battle from level 5 onwards mainly because she increases her attack points (1->2).

The defect of Xenith Monk is that it has no armor points but this defect can be easily overcome by using Xenith Monk in combination with cards with the Protect ability such as Queen Mycelia (level 1), Gloridax Guardian (level 4), Tower Griffin (level 5), Silvershield Sheriff (level 6), Venari Wavesmith (level 1),...

In my collection I have:

• 1 Xenith Monk level 5
• 5 Xenith Monk level 1

My short term goal is to upgrade my Xenith Monk from level 5 to level 6 to get him the Void ability but in the future I want to upgrade him to the max level.

In order to achieve my short term upgrade goal, I chose to make purchase offers (BID) from the Peakmonsters site.

I have a total of 45 BCX of Xenith Monk and to reach my upgrade goal I need to purchase 15 more level 1 cards.
In the following image you can see my BID ($0.530 per BCX).

Antoid Platoon

After analyzing and evaluating the neutral cards, I moved on to looking for cards to play in first position with a mana cost of less than 4 points of the fire element.

One of the cards I often use in battles with the Little League rule is Cerberus level 5, but it's a card I won't be able to use in the New Format because it's a card from the Beta edition.

The card I have identified as a purchase target is Antoid Platoon from Chaos Legion edition.

Antoid Platoon is a common card from Chaos Legion edition and is also a cheap card.

Antoid Platoon is a card that will be used extensively in New Format Little League battles and is the best fire element card to field in the first position because it has:

• two great abilities: Shield (starting at level 1) and Scavenger (starting at level 6).
• two armor points already starting at level 1

In my card collection I have:

• 2 Antoid Platoon of level 4
• 28 Antoid Platoon level 1

I have a total of 88 BCX and my short term goal is to get my Antoid Platoon to level 6 while my ultimate goal is to upgrade to max level.

For a card placed in first position, armor points are very important and Antoid Platoon can be used in combination with Hireling Scavo (level 1) or Flame Monkey (from level 6) that have the Repair ability and in this case Antoid Platoon becomes more difficult to eliminate because it can have two armor points restored every round of the game.

Again, to make the upgrade of Antoid Platoon I have chosen as purchase mode the BID offer from Peakmonsters because I am not in a hurry to reach my goal because the New Format has not been introduced yet.

In the following image you can see the data I have entered on Peakmonsters.

If my BID offer is accepted I will save $0.01 per card purchased with a total savings of $3.12.

Kelp Initiate and Cruel Sethropod

As for the Water element, I already have a card in my collection that plays well in first position and that I will be able to use in New Format which is Keep Initiate level 5.

Keep Initiate is a great card that plays well in first position because it has a speed of 6 points which gives it a very good chance of avoiding attacks from enemy cards.

However, I also want to have an alternative for Little League when there is also the Odd Ones Out battle rule.

As a viable alternative to field in first position, I decided to go for a cheap card from the Chaos Legion edition: Cruel Sethropod.

I have 91 BCX of Cruel Sethropod in my card collection and my upgrade goal is max level (400 BCX).
I have placed a BID to try and purchase 308 BCX at a cost of $0.050 per BCX.

Hill Giant, Biceratops and Failed Summoner

Regarding the Nature element, there are three good alternatives to use in first position in a battle with the Little League rule of the new format:

• Biceratops (starting at level 6)
• Hill Giant (starting at level 6)
• Failed Summoner (starting at level 6)

• Failed Summoner is the most expensive purchase choice because the lowest price per BCX is $1.30 while the lowest price per single card is $1.56.

• Biceratops has a lower cost than Failed Summoner: $0.154 per BCX (purchase of 122 BCX) and $0.20 per single card.
  

• Hill Giant is the cheapest choice because it has a cost per BCX of $0.059 and a single card cost of $0.063.
  

In my card collection I have:

• 24 Level 1 Biceratops
• 1 Failed Summoner level 4
• 97 Hill Giant level 1

I'm going to upgrade both Biceratops (from level 1 to level 6) and Hill Giant but today I decided to start upgrading Hill Giant and I made a BID offer on PeakMonsters to buy 303 BCX at the price of $0.055 per card that if they will all be accepted will allow me to have in my collection Hill Giant at the highest level.

Hill Giant is a card that I really like because:

• it has a great ability: Stun
• costs only 3 mana points.
  It's a really good card to play in battles that have few mana available and with precise battle rules like Little League, Melee Mayhem, Heavy Hitters, Super Sneak.

Hill Giant's weak point is that it has no armor points but this weakness can easily be undone by using Hill Giant in combination with cards with the Protect ability such as my Queen Mycelia of level 3.
For example a possible combination of cards I could use in a battle with the Little League rule is Hill Giant + Queen Mycelia + Khmer Princess.

In this case, Hill Giant would have 2 armor points and improve his resistance to enemy attacks thanks to Queen Mycelia's Protect ability, and he would also have two life points restored each round of play thanks to Khmer Princess's Tank Heal ability.

Conclusion

Today I shared my purchasing choices to upgrade my card collection and make it more competitive especially in battles that have the Little League rule with a look to the future when ranked battles will be split into two formats.

When I'm not in a hurry to purchase or upgrade a Splinterlands card my preferred method of purchase is the BID offer on Peakmonsters.

Il team di sviluppo di Splinterlands sta lavorando per raggiungere molti obiettivi di sviluppo come comunicato nel post pubblicato il 7 aprile 2022.

Uno degli obiettivi di sviluppo che sarà raggiunto nel breve termine sarà la suddivisione delle battaglie classificate in Wild Format e New Format.
I due formati avranno Reward Pool separate e ogni giocatore potrà scegliere se competere per ottenere le ricompense di un formato o di entrambi i formati.
Nelle battaglie classificate del Wild Format potranno essere utilizzate tutte le carte di tutte le edizioni.

Nelle battaglie classificate del New Format potranno essere utilizzate solo le carte delle collezioni Untamed, Dice e Chaos Legion con l'aggiunta delle carte Rewards delle collezioni Untamed e Choas Legion.

Quando sarà introdotta la suddivisione Wild Format e New Format mi piacerebbe essere competitivo nelle competizioni di entrambi i formati e per esserlo devo aumentare la forza in battaglia della mia collezione di carte tramite un'attività di ottimizzazione che consiste nel:

• acquistare carte che secondo me sono utili in battaglia
• vendere le carte che sono poco utili in battaglia e/o che non utilizzo mai in battaglia
• vendere le carte che sono oggettivamente utili in battaglia ma solo ad un determinato livello e che non ho intenzione di potenziare

Splinterlands è un gioco divertente anche perchè ogni battaglia è diversa da ogni altra perchè:

• ogni battaglia ha un avversario diverso
• ogni battaglia ha più regole di combattimento da rispettare

Oggi voglio condividere i miei obiettivi di acquisto/potenziamento che mi permetteranno di essere più competitivo nelle battaglie che hanno una precisa regola di battaglia: Little League.

In particolare mi focalizzerò sulla scelta e sull' acquisto di carte che:

• giocano bene in prima posizione
• potrò utilizzare nelle battaglie del New Format
• posso utilizzare quando la regola di battaglia è Little League

Little League, Prima Posizione e Nuovo Formato:

Le mie scelte di acquisto

Quando in una battaglia di Splinterlands la regola da rispettare è Little League possono essere utilizzate solo le carte che hanno un costo in mana uguale o inferiore a 4 punti.
La regola Little League restringe il ventaglio di carte utilizzabili e questa restrizione sarà ancora più marcata nelle battaglie classificate del nuovo formato.

Nella scelta delle carte da acquistare e del livello a cui portarle ho un "fidato amico" che mi aiuta da molto tempo in ogni mia operazione di scelta, acquisto e vendita delle carte di Splinterlands: PeakMonsters (https://peakmonsters.com/).

Anche se la suddivisione tra New Format e Wild Format non è stata ancora introdotta nel gioco di Splinterlands grazie ai filtri di Peakmonsters è possibile visualizzare, in tre modalità diverse di visualizzazione, tutte le carte che saranno utilizzabili nel New Format.

Nella mia ricerca delle carte da utilizzare in prima posizione quando la regola è Little League sono partito dalla visualizzazione delle carte dell'elemento neutrale che hanno un costo in mana uguale o inferiore a 4 punti.

Ho deciso di escludere le carte dell'edizione Chaos Legion Reward perchè sono carte che posso trovare nei forzieri e quindi per il momento ho deciso di non acquistarle.

Xenith Monk

Tra le carte Neutrali una delle carte che potrà giocare bene in prima posizione nel nuovo formato e con la regola di battaglia Little League sarà sicuramente Xenith Monk.

Xenith Monk è una carta rara dell'edizione Chaos Legion:

• è poco utile al livello 1 perchè ha un solo punto di attacco e nessuna abilità
• aumenta la sua utilità in battaglia quando raggiunge il livello 2 perchè acquisisce l'abilità Heal che le permette di curarsi ad ogni round di gioco.
• diventa molto più utile in battaglia a partire dal livello 5 in poi soprattutto perchè aumenta i suoi punti di attacco (1->2).

Il difetto di Xenith Monk è che non ha punti armatura ma questo difetto può essere facilmente annullato utilizzando Xenith Monk in combinazione con carte con l'abilità Protect come ad esempio Queen Mycelia (level 1), Gloridax Guardian (level 4), Tower Griffin (level 5), Silvershield Sheriff (level 6), Venari Wavesmith (level 1),...

Nella mia collezione ho:

• 1 Xenith Monk di livello 5
• 5 Xenith Monk di livello 1

Il mio obiettivo di breve termine è portare il mio Xenith Monk dal livello 5 al livello 6 per fargli acquisire l'abilità Void ma in futuro voglio portarlo al massimo livello.

Per raggiungere il mio obiettivo di upgrade di breve termine ho scelto di effettuare delle offerte di acquisto (BID) dal sito di Peakmonsters.

Ho in totale 45 BCX di Xenith Monk e per raggiungere il mio obietivo di upgrade ho bisogno di acquistare altre 15 carte di livello 1.
Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere la mia offerta di acquisto BID (0.530$ per BCX).

Antoid Platoon

Dopo l'analisi e la valutazione delle carte neutrali sono passato alla ricerca di carte da schierare in prima posizione con un costo in mana inferiore a 4 punti dell'elemento fuoco.

Una delle carte che uso spesso nelle battaglie con la regola Little League è Cerberus di livello 5 che però è una carta che non potrò utilizzare nel New Format perchè è una carta dell'edizione Beta.

La carta che ho individuato come obiettivo d'acquisto è Antoid Platoon dell'edizione Chaos Legion.

Antoid Platoon è una carta comune dell'edizione Chaos Legion ed è anche una carta economica.

Antoid Platoon è una carta che sarà molto utilizzata nelle battaglie Little League del New Format ed è la migliore carta dell'elemento fuoco da schierare in prima posizione perchè ha:

• due ottime abilità: Shield (dal livello 1) e Scavenger (dal livello 6)
• due punti armatura già a partire dal livello 1

Nella mia collezione di carte ho:

• 2 Antoid Platoon di livello 4
• 28 Antoid Platoon di livello 1

Ho in totale 88 BCX e il mio obiettivo di breve termine è di portare il mio Antoid Platoon al livello 6 mentre il mio obiettivo finale è fare l'upgrade al livello massimo.

Per una carta schierata in prima posizione i punti armatura sono molto importanti e Antoid Platoon può essere utilizzata in combinazione con Scavo Hireling (livello 1) o Flame Monkey (dal livello 6) che hanno l'abilità Repair e in questo caso Antoid Platoon diventa più difficile da eliminare perchè potrà avere il rispristino di due punt armatura ad ogni round di gioco.

Anche in questo caso, per fare l'upgrade di Antoid Platoon ho scelto come modalità di acquisto l'offerta BID da Peakmonsters perchè non ho fretta di raggiungere il mio obiettivo perchè non è ancora stato introdotto il New Format.

Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere i dati che ho inserito su Peakmonsters.

Se la mia offerta BID sarà accettata risparmierò 0.01$ per ogni carta acquistata con un risparmio totale di 3.12$.

Kelp Initiate e Cruel Sethropod

Per quanto riguarda l'elemento Acqua ho già nella mia collezione una carta che gioca bene in prima posizione e che potrò utilizzare nel New Format che è Keep Initiate di livello 5.

Keep Initiate è un'ottima carta che gioca bene in prima posizione perchè ha una velocità di 6 punti che le permette di avere ottime probabilità di evitare gli attacchi da parte delle carte nemiche.

Voglio però avere anche un alternativa per la Little League quando c'è anche la regola di battaglia Odd Ones Out.

Come valida alternativa da schierare in prima posizione ho deciso di puntare su una carta economica dell'edizione Chaos Legion: Cruel Sethropod.

Nella mia collezione di carte ho 91 BCX di Cruel Sethropod e il mio obiettivo di upgrade è il massimo livello (400 BCX).
Ho piazzato un'offerta BID per cercare di acquistare 308 BCX al costo di 0.050$ per BCX.

Hill Giant, Biceratops e Failed Summoner

Per quanto riguarda l'elemento Natura ci sono tre valide alternative da utilizzare in prima posizione in una battaglia con la regola Little League del nuovo formato:

• Biceratops (a partire dal livello 6)
• Hill Giant (a partire dal livello 6)
• Failed Summoner (a partire dal livello 6)

• Failed Summoner è la scelta di acquisto più costosa perchè il prezzo più basso per BCX è di 1.30$ mentre il prezzo più basso per singola carta è di 1.56$

• Biceratops ha un costo più basso rispetto a Failed Summoner: 0.154$ per BCX (acquisto di 122 BCX) e 0.20$ per singola carta.
  

• Hill Giant è la scelta più economica perchè ha un costo per BCX di 0.059$ e un costo per singola carta di 0.063$.
  

Nella mia collezione di carte ho:

• 24 Biceratops di livello 1
• 1 Failed Summoner di livello 4
• 97 Hill Giant di livello 1

Ho intenzione di potenziare sia Biceratops (dal livello 1 al livello 6) che Hill Giant ma oggi ho deciso di iniziare l'upgrade di Hill Giant e ho fatto un'offerta BID su PeakMonsters per acquistare 303 BCX al prezzo di 0.055$ per carta che se verranno accettate tutte mi permetteranno di avere nella mia collezione Hill Giant di massimo livello.

Hill Giant è una carta che mi piace molto perchè:

• ha un'ottima abilità: Stun
• costa solo 3 punti di mana.
  E' davvero un'ottima carta da schierare in battaglie che hanno pochi mana disponibili e con precise regole di battaglia come Little League, Melee Mayhem, Heavy Hitters, Super Sneak

Il punto debole di Hill Giant è che non ha punti armatura ma questo difetto può essere facilmente annullato utilizzando Hill Giant in combinazione con carte con l'abilità Protect come ad esempio la mia Queen Mycelia di livello 3.
Una possibile combinazione di carte che potrei usare in una battaglia con la regola Little League è Hill Giant + Queen Mycelia + Khmer Princess

In questo caso Hill Giant avrebbe 2 punti armatura e migliorerebbe la sua restinza agli attacchi nemici grazie all'abilità Protect di Queen Mycelia e avrebbe anche il ripristino di due punti vita ad ogni round di gioco grazie all'abilità Tank Heal di Khmer Princess.

Conclusione

Oggi ho condiviso le mie scelte di acquisto per potenziare la mia collezione di carte e renderla più competitiva in particolare nelle battaglie che hanno la regola Little League con uno sguardo al futuro quando le battaglie classificate saranno suddivise in due formati.

Quando non ho fretta di acquistare o potenziare una carta di Splinterlands il mio metodo di acquisto preferito è l'offerta BID su Peakmonsters.
