Changes in our strategy

▶️ Watch on 3Speak

We had a lot of brainstorming sessions with @ph1102 these days and we realized that we needed to change some things in order to make sure that the holders of LEN and LENM get the best return.

Check out the video to learn more about it

Could you mention specifically which projects are those which promised certain rates and ended up with huge discrepancies?

We have delegated funds to several projects, one of them promises a 16% APR and it's one of the bigger recipient of our delegations. Actually, after calculation it's rather 11 to 12% APR. This is quite a big difference. I wouldn't like to mention the name of the project but you can have a look at what projects the liotes.funds delegates, to figure it out.

Definitely, I believe that the reality of one day is not always the same reality down the road. That's why we question what we are doing and if necessary change our approach.

It's nice that checked on things and decided to make changes. All the best to your investment strategies :)

Thanks. Sometimes it's necessary to make some adaptations.

Exactly. It's necessary especially in investments. We want to maximize profits as much as possible.

Thanks, guys! That's a great move. I'm really supporting any move to improve the power of Liotes Voter. I will increase my delegation. !CTP

The liotes.voter is a great tool I believe and we will try to bring as much power to it as we can manage to do in a sustainable way :-)

Every once in a while you have to reassess your investments to stay on the right track. There are projects that promise certain returns that are paid in a certain token, but if this token falls in price, the return falls below what was promised.

It's definitely important to revise our investments regularly. Just to make sure that we are not losing out in certain places.

Thanks for sharing. I was noticing that on some other projects it appeared the APR return I was receiving in dividends was not matching to the APR published for the project. When I check it out, I noticed there is the APR of the project which was the one shared and then dividends were a % of that amount. Some projects pay out 80% or less of the project APR. I think I read that one pays out 50% dividends of the project APR. While others calculated the APR based on the market listed sells price of the token others used the buy price so the calculations are all over the place since there is no set guideline for project owners to follow there will be no consistency. I recommend always doing your own calculations. Trust but verify...
Take care.

It's not that easy to define which is the correct APR regarding dividends that are paid in a different token. Either you take the buy, the sell or the average price and the bigger the spread between these prices is, the less precise is the APR. However when there is no spread, the APR is quite strightforward. You are totally right to point out that trust is good, but control is better :-)

Thanks for sharing! I think that's a very sensible approach - I do ponder about the same problem sometimes as well but fortunately, most of the my assets are either in HP or HBD so it's ok. Appreciate the hard work that both of you are doing!

It's definitely not easy to take such decisions but we have to put the interests of the LEN/LENM holders above emotional aspects. When you stake for ages it's not easy to stop doing it but we definitely belive that it's necessary.

It's the right call. Without running a project involving more responsibility than my own investments, I took even more drastic measures. I sold a good portion of my holdings over time in various tribes where I didn't see anything positive going on, and about delegations, I'm currently only delegating to leo.voter and liotes.voter.

The problem with most of the tribe tokens is that their value decline is much faster than the value decline of hive and since our whole project is directly linked to hive, we believe it's better to keep our assets in Hive as well.

I don't think there is a project that is increasing its value at the moment. In the whole crypto world, not just HE tokens.
A change of strategy is fine, I agree, the only thing that bothers me is that you are over-emphasizing how this is only for us, the investors. Hm...
I've heard that many times and it never ended well. It can't just be for us, it has to be for you too... we're in the same boat, I suppose.

I totally agree with you. Zoltan an me are still the biggest LENM token holders, so we definitely consider ourselves to be in the same boat :-).

When we look at several projects that we have invested in like Vibes, Oneup, Proofofbrain and others, the value of the tokens is decreasing much faster than the value of Hive. Since our project is linked to hive, we believe it's better to keep the value there.

This is a decision in the right direction, it seems to me.

You are right... We are in the same boat and exactly because of that, everything that we do for the project is done for both parties... For other LEN/LENM holders and ourselves...
So, maybe it's better to say that we are working for the token value and not for others... :) :)

I think changes are required. Which projects did you look into and you proved that their APR was incorrect? It would be nice for reference.

It was actually for a major project that we have been delegating for ages. I don't want to mention it but you can look to what we delegate with liotes.fund and find out ;-)

I can't seem to tell from looking at the account. At least, I see that leo.voter is still on the list so they are fine.
