Today's challenge

Today we would like to learn about the economical situation in your country.

The hive community spreads all over the globe and we have people here from every corner of this planet. It's therefore a great place to learn about how things are developing on a planetary level.

For this mission we would like to learn how life and the economy is doing in your country? How did your country master the pandemic and how much have the local businesses suffered? Do you feel that people are much poorer than before covid spread? Are people hopeful for the future?

Simply write your answer as a comment below this post!

Everybody who submits an answer will get 3 credits. If you write more than the bare minimum, you will get 2 additional credits.

We are very grateful if you enter the challenge within 24 hours after the post is published. We will try to count entries up to 36 hours after publication.

The economy in my country is absolutely poor.

How did your country master the pandemic and how much have the local businesses suffered

After so much fraud and lies of the increase in number everyday, we still came through. As for businesses, some went bankrupt. Businesses suffered loss due to the pandemic and those losses hindered the growth of the business.

Do you feel that people are much poorer than before covid spread?

We were just good before the outbreak of the deadly disease where we all got stuck in our houses, which created avenue for the increase in price of goods. Right now things are very difficult and some people even go without food for days. This is because of the rise in market price.

Are people hopeful for the future?

Truth be told no one I have come across so far is having any positive hopes lol including myself. If the price in stocks wanna get higher and higher everyday, we would just accept our fate and life continues. I only feel for those who feed from hand to mouth.

Actually talking about the economic situation in Venezuela is very hard, because I live in a country where we have been trying for more than 21 years trying to overcome the mismanagement of its governors, coupled with the large number of failures in water, electricity, telephony, internet, and even the food supply, this causes the value of our FIAT to be tremendously devalued, which undoubtedly causes us to have less purchasing power to be able to negotiate with cryptos, LEN, HIVE, and any other cryptocurrency.

If the current situation of the pandemic is added to that, we have the perfect recipe for a financial destruction of a country that was famous for having the most important oil resources in the world.

And the crisis has no hope of getting better, which discourages people much more.

It is quite difficult to acquire LEN or any crypto when what you earn in 1 day is worth $5 and 2 hours later the same amount becomes worth $2.

Hyperinflation devours us, it is really difficult and painful for me to have to share this, but it is like that, and I believe that all Venezuelans who read this comment will agree and will be able to say many more things in relation to this.

How did your country master the pandemic and how much have the local businesses suffered

The country has kept the quarantine measures within what was suggested, but businesses have had incredible losses, most have closed their doors and have had to dedicate themselves to the informal economy and to work through the internet, changing their business models.

Do you feel that people are much poorer than before covid spread?

Yes, people in general now only invest in food and not in other things as before, that they went to the movies, bought clothes, etc. Now the survival step to take the most important role.

Are people hopeful for the future?

I really have hopes that the world of cryptos will take Venezuela and the world forward, I think it is the best solution that can be adopted and what will lead the country to be a power in the field, in fact we are currently listed as one of the main countries where the largest amount of cryptocurrencies is exchanged and circulated.
I also want to say that all this is due to the mismanagement of politicians and those in charge in power, since they have taken all the resources, they have taken possession of them, and they do not return them to the people, as it should be in the past. Developed economies.

However, we keep fighting and sticking out our chests to get ahead.

Thank you very much for this initiative and allowing us to give ourselves a voice to express these things, which in my opinion are very important, not only for the benefit of the contest itself, but because this will really help you create better incentives for all those who we are clients of liotes, in addition to knowing the financial situation in other parts of the world.

Cheers my friends!

Thank you so much for this amazing comment and for sharing the situation in your country! I followed the situation of Venezuela before the pandemic started and it seemd catastrophic then already. I often wonder how things are still working inspite of these hardships. I respect the venezuelians like yourself that get up every day and try to find a way to bring food on the table...

I wrote a long comment for this mission, but decided against posting it after reading some of the others. Instead I’m going to keep it short, and encourage people to read and upvote the posts from the people who are really hurting right now. You are all in my prayers.

Things are ok in the U.S. The government did an ok, but not great job with the virus. A lot of people are vaccinated now, and the economy is recovering pretty quickly. There are currently job openings at almost every business in town. People are relatively hopeful for the future.

Thanks a lot for your kind and respectful words. I think that in our developped countries we might be feeling the negative effects of the pandemia on our economies but when I see what people have to endure in other places, I think we must relativise.

How did your country master the pandemic and how much have the local businesses suffered? Do you feel that people are much poorer than before covid spread? Are people hopeful for the future?

I live in Istanbul and the pandemic period was so severe for small businesses. Most of them were shut down for a couple of weeks and only the resturants were delivering your orders until midnight. Due to the decreasing purchasing power as well as the pandemic situation, many people suffered a lot until June. In the end, %10-20 of these local bussinesses no longer deliver services...

Both devaluation of the fiat money and the effects of pandemic ended up sad for people in my country. When I step into the main streets, I can clearly see that nothing is the same as 2 years ago. To be honest, I'm losing my hope for a turning point for the fiat money. We may even test new ATL levels against USD. In terms of people, they are hopeless. The younger generations do not have any life expectations regarless of their ages or sociocultural background. As the politicians fail to take things better, the people are suffering... Hope to see better days without these unskillful policy makers

Thanks a lot for your great comment!

Because my wife's family lives in Istanbul, I'm quite aware of the situation in Turkey. I see a big hopelessness in young generations and I hear from so many places that people are just looking for a way to leave the country and go to live abroad. This makes me really sad. Also the inflation is horrible. About 15 years ago, I helped my father in law to buy a flat and I remember that 1 Swiss franc was around 1 TL at that time. Today 1 Swiss Franc is close to 10 TL!

I really can't complain. According to EU statistics data, Slovenia is currently enjoying one of the highest economic growth rates in Europe, despite the epidemic. The number of unemployed is lower than before the crisis.

During the epidemic, the state provided a basic income for all those who couldn't work. For companies, the state provided funding for workers who were waiting for work.

Currently, 1/3 of the population is vaccinated.

It is true, however, that the state has become extremely indebted and we can only hope that this will be covered by European funds for the recovery from the epidemic. If these funds are not forthcoming, there are likely to be problems.

Thanks a lot for sharing the situation in your country. I think we can be lucky to be in countries where the state managed to support the people and the businesses. Like that the economy could be kept alive. Of course the dept is there but I believe that this dept will be easier to compensate if there is a working economy rather than a totally broken one.

In the USA, the federal government provided some benefits to individuals and businesses. However each state had control over if there was a shut down or not. Texas is the state where I live. They just reopened everything. Lots of Politics at play on the federal and state levels.

It gets complicated to look at how countries are doing when you have a different approach in each state. It's the same here. Sometimes the federal country decided something, then the provinces said something different... A real nightmare if you run a company and you have to adapt every 7 days.

For this mission we would like to learn how life and the economy is doing in your country?

I think things are fine in the US as people are still getting by. I am not sure how some people will get by after the unemployment plus up by the government in the US goes away though.

How did your country master the pandemic and how much have the local businesses suffered?

Well I think things were fine but they took forever to pass anything substantial to help people who were in need. Obviously everyone knows about the election during 2020 for the US. A lot of politics went into before any package was passed and a lot of it did not go to the people who needed it the most.

Do you feel that people are much poorer than before covid spread?

I do think more people are poorer compared to where they were before covid spread. In fact most of the people who got richer were those who had plans and invested them into the markets (housing, stock and maybe even crypto).

Are people hopeful for the future?

I think most people are hopefully for the future since the sickness is no longer the top most concern for most citizens. As of right now, people are just trying to figure out how to adapt the new economy after the lock downs. The vaccines for the most part helped people become less fearful.

Thanks a lot for this great comment. The US seemd to be suffering in the first waves but then they got through it better than many other countries. I think when people don't have the illness as first preocupation, then the economy can take speed again.

The United States is in a state of denial right now. Our economy is trashed. Small businesses are basically gone, and unemployment benefits are about to run out. When people realize that there aren't really any jobs out there after the few left in fast food and grocery stores fill up, they will start to panic. This will be made worse as the protections against evictions run out as well. We already have shelves empty in the stores and gas prices have increased along with home and used car prices. Some cities are made up of tent cities as the homeless community continues to grow. I think "they" are going to continue to let things get worse until people beg them for their "Great Reset," but that is my opinion.

Thanks a lot for sharing your opinion. It's interesting to see that in the US people have quite a different view about the situations. I believe it's also related to the local situation. There are probably some places hit much stronger than others because of their specific economical structure.
