A stressful night duty at work

Hi friends, it's been a while. Hope you all had a wonderful day. I'll try my best to be posting at least ones a week.
Today I'll be talking about my patients and how stressful my night duty was.

It's another moment with my patients.
what a stressful and restless night duty. we have three shifts in nursing profession/ hospital work. I.e morning shift, afternoon shift and night shift. Among all the shifts, I have not seen any shift as stressful as night duty. The reason is that, at night the body is longing for rest after a stressful day. But when you don't give it a rest, it will be weak.

In night duty, no sleep, no rest, you give a close monitoring of your patients especially at their unconscious state examples; checking of their blood pressure, respiration, pulse, temperature and other vital check up that will the patient regain consciousness.

A sixty two old woman was brought unconscious to our clinic with the complaint of weakness on the left side of the body and in ability to speak for one month and one week respectively. Her blood pressure was high which reads 160/100mmHg, weakness on both Left and right limbs, swelling on the left scapular. Basic laboratory test ordered and results were; packed cell volume- 12%, Relative value scale- reactive (But not confirmed), Fasting blood sugar- 18.7mmol/l, malaria parasite -(+), Widal- significant. she was admitted and placed on intravenous 0.9%normal saline 1liter. She's not tolerating oral feeds and drugs. Also other patients who were in their ward.

No matter how stressful it is, I still like my nursing profession because I enjoy saving life.
