Meet Felix Felicis, the Dwarf Bunny!

avatar

Hello everyone!

This is my first post on Hive Pets, and I'm delighted to share a bit of my love for rabbits here! Please, meet Felix Felicis, the Dwarf Bunny!

Felix Felicis is the smallest member of my family, with only **950g **(~2 lbs). He is a 3 years old rabbit and is a Dwarf Hotot. The Dwarf Hotot is a breed of really small bunnies easily identified by those "dark eyebands" around the eyes, as if they put make-up! Usually this eyeband is black, but on Felix it has a chocolate colour.

History Time

There was a (much larger) rabbit breed , called Blanc de Hotot. Unfortunately, they were bred for their commercial value for meat and fur, as they were big enough for those usages.

Recently, around the 1970's, some european breeders started to cross the Blanc the Hotot with a much smaller breed, the Netherland Dwarf. And that's how the Dwarf Hotot came to existance.

So the Dwarf Hotot isn't just a Blanc de Hotot that became smaller over time; despite sharing the same name ("Hotot"); it's, in fact, a totally different breed due crossings over decades.

Enough with the talking! Now Give Photos!

I hope you enjoy meeting Felix!

Until next time!

Welcome to the HIVE blockchain, Felix! 😁

He is the cutest little thing! I'd never heard of a Dwarf Hotot, so thank you for the information about the breed. Welcome to Hive, and it looks like you are off to a good start thus far! We've glad to have you in THE TERMINAL in Discord, too! Let us know when you have questions, and thank you for sharing this delightful little ball of fur with us! 🙂

Thanks for your compliment ^.^ He's our fluffy boy! He's with us for the last 3 years, and both me and my fiancée can't get enough of him: everytime we look at him doing anything (stretching, hopping around, eating), we both go "aaaawwwww <3"
