Burn-out can take place also when one cares too much about the job, especially if one is in a position of leadership. Some of victims of burn-out can be the most dedicated people on a team. The other factors can contribute to burn-out, but apathy is not a factor.

That was what I was trying to say, but employers often don't want to admit that the problem often lies in the way things are being done and it's easier to put the blame on the employee than to change the work circumstance/culture.
