My relationship with coffee started late, very late. Coming from a family that always drank coffee in the morning, mom decided that her children would not drink it, at least as long as it was up to her.

To the rest of the family, we were the odd ones who didn't eat breakfast with coffee. But mom sought to protect us from caffeine dependency from an early age, since all of them, if they didn't drink coffee in the morning, they would have a bad day.

It may or may not be a mental thing, but she would get a headache if she didn't have her cup of coffee early. So she made sure she always had her stash at home so that the next day she wouldn't have any surprises.

When I was already in college, I was initiated by a professor, who in the middle of advising me for my degree work, always invited me for a coffee and would not accept my refusal.

From then on, my relationship with him has been one of comings and goings, but I never say no to a coffee invitation.

One in particular was the one that brought me together with my best friend. We worked at a television station, where the days could be long and stressful.

At the entrance of the channel there was a small kiosk with a coffee vending machine, where we would coincide every day. We always ordered the same type of coffee: number 8, with a hint of vanilla.

Accustomed to the work rhythm, although it was exhausting from time to time, there was nothing that we could not overcome with a good coffee. However, in the middle of the year, and with the vacations still a long way off, the body began to resent the fatigue.

That's when a phrase was born that 15 years later, we still repeat to each other when we talk: I need an intravenous coffee number 8, please. That tells us the level of exhaustion we may have at the time, since, in those days it was what brought "the soul back into our bodies".

Now I'm on a #retodecreaciondecontenido for the entire month of August, and at this point, it's coffee that has me on my feet to achieve the goal.

I get headaches if I don't drink coffee each day as well. I am definitely dependent on the caffeine.

My mother say the same! I drink coffee when I have, but instead I can drink green tea or any kind of tea, and nothing happen to me. But coffee will be always, my first choice

Yeah, they are pretty good, heh-6.jpg

Maybe that was a great decision by your elders to delay your exposure to coffee.
I am also a late starter with drinking coffee.

I think that if I had been drinking coffee since I was a child, I wouldn't enjoy it as much as I do now.
It's still a couple of cups a day. My family has a thermos to go tasting from morning to afternoon.

Haha! That could be true!
It's amazing the way your family drinks their coffee:)
Have a nice day!

Excellent anecdote of your relationship with coffee, and how your mother wanted to protect you from caffeine.
I have always drunk coffee, but by personal choice, I drink it very little at home.
I have a high sensitivity to caffeine, if I drink two large cups of black coffee, I can feel dizzy.
Nowadays I drink coffee without sugar.
I was struck by the fact that you are publishing daily, excellent for this initiative. I also want to resume the rhythm of daily publication.

Coffee makes me sleepy, that's why I started drinking it, only two cups a day, the one in the afternoon to get me through the second working day.
But I drink it with milk, black coffee without sugar makes me depressed (laughs).
Yes, I'm on a daily publishing challenge. I hope that by the end of the month I will be in the habit and will be able to continue with that rhythm.
