Hello my fellow splinter warriors!

I hope you are already battling it through numerous other players and reaching closer to your desired place. Only 7 days left from this current season to end and I have reached Diamond 1 with both the accounts that I am playing. Now, i am preparing myself for the mighty war for leaderboard to see what I can achieve this season. Every season feels harder than the previous one as more more and more players are coming from every corner of earth to join the battle of glory in splinterlands. All kinds of splinterlands including Cards, dec, sps and lands, everything is sitting on constant high price. Where the old players are earning double digits in earning just from playing quests, newcomers and small players are struggling to even complete their quests in high tiers for not having enough cards.

Both of the new updates of splinterlands, the card rental system and the SPS airdrop is a great hit without a doubt and surprisingly continuing for weeks now. It's been 27 days since the SPS airdrop got launched and I staked almost all the splintershards that I got. The price of SPS has seeing a bit down now as it being traded for 0.383$. DEC on the other hand is being traded for 0.00717$ in hive market.

Now, let us move towards my weekly battle post and for this week I have a very special monster to showcase to all of you. As you have already guessed it from the thumbnail, it is Goblin Fireballer I am talking about. This 2 mana untamed monster is from Fire region and since I bought it and made max level, it has been one of my top archers in entire collection. You may think of him as a weak monster but let me assure you, not only it is very valuable in low mana matches but also in medium and high mana matches. For just 2 mana cost, this monster has some overpowered stat according to me and let me share my points on why I think it's a worthy monster and a must have card in everyone's deck.

• First of all, it's stats. At max level, goblin fireballer carries 2 range attack at 4 speed and 4 health with 2 abilities - stun and snare. It has all for a 2 mana cost - 2 attack which be become 3 when using with zaku and 4 speed is considerably good for a 2 mana monster.

• Goblin fireballer is a bird killer and it never misses it's job. With the snare ability, it will attack the enemy with 100% and wont miss if the enemy has flying ability. Now count those matches you lost against cocatrices or Nectar Queens or any other high speed flying monster and what if you had the fireballer with you.

• Goblin fireballer also has the stun ability so it can be used to stun your front enemy card. When matches with trample ruleset, this card alone can save your life from the enemy Magnor and the list goes long.

• It only costs 2 mana so you can even include this card in mini mana matches, especially in that 12 mana match, goblin fireballer often being used to stun the enemies. It is a good choice for the little leagues as well.

Goblin fireballer can be used to make variety of lineups and strategies so don't let your imagination get blocked with only these points above. Now let us focus on it's abilities and how it works.

Snare

Monsters with snare ability will never miss the target with flying ability and upon attacking it will destroy the enemy's flying ability.

Stun

Monsters with stun ability has 50% chance to apply stun on enemy while attacking making it unable to perform it's next attack.

Market Stat

Market is as usual dry of max level monsters and currently there is no max level Goblin Fireballer available in the market. However, there is a level 3 (14 bcx) available for 6.3$ (846.615 DEC) and the single BCX cards are starting from 0.49$ (66.251 DEC) It takes a total of 400 BCX cards to make a max level fireballer so at this moment p2p sales are only way to get one I think.

Ruleset:

• Holy Protection - Every monster will get divine shield and first attack on it will be ignored.

• Reverse Speed - In reverse speed matches, monsters with the lowest speed will attack first and so on.

Most of you will think that I will lose this match against all those big fierce magic dragon monsters but wait ;) Let me explain this from the first. When I saw the mana count and splinter availability I decided to choose Zaku in this one because that's the best i got for this condition. ow, I didn't for a second thought that My opponent will use a magic deck upon me so I didn't use the Elven Mystic on this match. I went with a full range attack with Living Lava at front followed by all 5 archers. I only chose 1 sniper monster and rest non snipers in this match and also chose Tower Griffin for it's protect ability as I thought the opponent will also attack upon me with range monsters as well. Let me share my line up now and why I chose them.

LIVING LAVA

I used LIVING LAVA at the front position because of his awesome stat. I have a level 8 and it has 4 melee attack at 1 speed, 4 Armour and 8 health along with 3 abilities - Shield, Rust and Thorns. As it was a reverse speed match, Living lava will attack first as he only possesses 1 speed.

CORNEALUS

I chose Cornealus in the second position as it's well known for being a great anti range card for it's return Fire ability. It's large pack of health along with healing ability makes it very durable against high powered attacks so it doesn't go down easily, it's always my top choice for the reach position when I get high mana cap matches with zaku available to choose from. I have a level 4 and it has 4 ranged attack at 3 speed and 12 health. It also have 4 abilities - Healing, Thorns, Return Fire and Magic Reflect.

GOBLIN FIREBALLER

I chose GOBLIN FIREBALLER in the third place. I only had a few mana left so I chose to use mini mana monsters to fill my rest places. Goblin fireballer has 4 speed so it will not attack fast enough but it's snare ability will help me out of opponent has flying monsters and if the stun ability can keep the front card stunned for even 1 or 2 rounds, that will be just great. I have a level 10 goblin Fireballer and It has 2 range attack at 4 speed and 4 health.

TOWER GRIFFIN

I chose TOWER GRIFFIN at the fourth place, after the goblin so that it gets safe for some time against sniper attacks. With it's Protect ability, It will provide shield to all 6 of my friendly monsters so all of them will certainly become harder to kill. I have a level 8 and it has 2 range attack at 4 speed and 6 health. It has 2 abilities - flying and Protect.

CENTAUR

I chose CENTAUR at the fifth place in this match. I consider that for a 4 mana cost, this card is very good for its high powered range attack with high speed. Moreover, it's sniper ability will further help me to launch attacks on multiple enemies at once. I have a level 10 and it has 3 ranged attack at 6 speed and with 6 health.

SPARK PIXIES

As the last card of my lineup, I chose the sparx pixies. I know it's a reverse rule match and most probably my sparky will attack at last but even then I chose it because of it's evade and flying ability which still has a good chance to protect the back from attacks and it's stun stun ability on the other hand will help me to stun enemy front cards.

Match result

Unlike what I thought, my opponent didn't use any range attack on me, rather he went on with a full magic deck with DELWYN DRAGONSCALE summoner which gives +1 magic attack to all magic monsters. Just after seeing the opponent's lineup I really thought that I will lose this one but I don't know if it's a miracle but I still won the match guys!

At first my lava attacked on the enemy Lord and destroyed the divine shield from both the Lord and prismatic Energy. But afterwards, he took so many attacks from those enemy magic monsters and finally the gold dragon killed it down. But, the centaur also took down the first 2 cards of the opponent with it's blast sniper attack. at last, my spark pixies attacked the red dragon and stunned it.

At the begin of second round, my goblin fireballer finally dis it's snare trick. With it's snare ability it took out the flying ability from both the red dragon and gold dragon. Thou the enemy death elemental killed my goblin fireballer afterwards, my pixie killed both of them with its one blow leaving only the death elemental and the undead priest alive.

At the beginning of third round, my tower griffin took down the enemy death elemental with his range attack but rest monsters missed their attacks while attacking it. Finally, at round 4, my tower griffin again launched a devastating attack and finally took him down and thus I won this match.

Really, it was a very unpredictable match but it also prove a fact that it is not necessary that always the pricey monsters will win only. I took down 2 of the most precious dragon monsters with the help of an ordinary common archer goblin fireballer so I think that explains well what I am saying. Every card of splinterlands is equally important, you just have to know when and how to use it. right? :)
