Upgraded my Sand Worm to max level

I hope all of you had a great Christmas 🎄 with your family and friends. Mango here also enjoyed a great day with his family and together we enjoyed the even with cakes and a grand lunch and also spent the evening with friends. Now back to work, let’s now talk about the splinterlands season progress. Well, we have only 3 days and 20 hours left for this ongoing season to and I finally moved into the Champ league today. As I shared in my previous post, I was waiting for the new modern format tournaments to get listed and today they finally update the tourney page with a bunch of new ones. I entered the diamond tier and a gold tier. As I was already playing with more than 3,700 trophies, I just clicked and moved up to the Champ tier.

Splinter Shopping

Well, the dip is officially ruling us for quite some time and with BTC getting stuck at 16-17k and ETH roaming around 1.2k, right now there’s no sign of any bulling so we may have to wait a bit longer for the good news. Meanwhile, everything you love in crypto space is offering good discounts on them, including our favourite #NFT game splinterlands as well. Especially if you see the card market, chaos and it’s reward edition cards are selling at their all time low prices and some even have reached almost near their burn prices. Isn’t it the best time to bag your favourite cards and add them into your playing deck or rather, make a juicy renting collection which will generate a decent passive income?

For me, it’s been eternity since I am using almost all my crypto earnings into this game and buying cards one after another. I started as a novice player but No doubt that over time, I am able to build a nice collection of cards here and competing in diamond - Champ league with the top players. But as I am duelling the masters of splinterlands now, I certainly feel a lot of cards which is still missing in my collection and thus, making me weak against them. One of them was the Sand Worm, the most deadly sneaky monster ever seen in splinterlands. Well, it’s the sneak ability melee monster that possesses the highest attack count along with Piercing and Snare ability.

I have already a level 7 of this card but it was much weaker than the max level when being used in diamond / champ league and was lacking the piercing ability which is like the most important stat in this monster. So, I decided to upgrade this card to max level and went to the market to find out the total cost for the cards that I require. So I first checked in the card marker and calculated roughly that it would Cost me around 142$ to buy the required 250 BCX. I then went to the monstermarket.io and made the purchase using credit this time. As usual, I received the instant 3% dec cashback in my HE account which was about 6160 DEC. as of writing this post, I have already used the Max level Sand Worm in plenty of matches and I gotta say that I was missing the fun to be a sneak master in splinterlands.

Season Progress

Currently I am having 3,732 trophies so I am still 2 or 3 lost matches away from getting down to D1 again. So, I have to play carefully from here until I reach another 100 trophies. By the way, I also want to mention the help of my 2 rented summoners Mylor and Llama which really helped me out to reach Champ faster by making the Earth deck pretty impenetrable every time. I am thinking to rent them again before the season end if their rent prices don’t go up to moon.

I have also completed playing today’s focus mission where I got the Impair ruleset. To be fair, I didn't care separately to choose monsters based on if they fall in Impair or not. But anyways, as I played heavily today, I end up collecting 12 focus chests. Thou these chests will be counted as Diamond level chests and most probably will carry less attractive rewards than Champ, I was happy with the count. However, as I opened them up, gladly I received a Chaos pack along with 1 epic card Djinn Renova, 2 rare cards Dhampir Infiltrator and Venari Wavesmith, around 20.5 SPS, 498 merits and of course 18 legendary potions. Getting 3 non common cards and a chaos pack from a diamond league focus was surely better than average and as I already got into Champ before today’s focus start, I am hoping to get even better rewards for the next day.

Now in the screenshots above, I have shared the outcome of the previous 2 days’s focus reward chests. I have opened them both while in Diamond I and as you can in the first one, I had collected total 9 reward chests and got 4 common cards, around 2.5 SPS, 460 merits and another 21 legendary potions. From the second one however in which I collected a but more and total 15 reward chests, I received 1 gold foil rare, 1 epic, 2 rares, 4 common cards along with around 75+ SPS and 153 merits. I felt enormous joy when that lucky chest opened with a gold foil rare and as usual, I sent all the cards to my renting account afterwards.
