@manniman Really great video! He has a really good point. I agree with you too. There is so much great content out here on hive. It is still really good to onboard new users that actually understand the reputation system and put in meaningful efforts because they produce original content. I think the organic way Hive is already growing helps to maintain a standard of promoting good actors and driving out bad value. Gresham's Law in a way as well.

Interesting, this is the very first time somebody throws Gresham‘s Law against me. It‘s really hard to tell what‘s good and bed money after all. It comes down to who sets the moral standards and how educated and free are participants.

Nothing against.

"Gresham's Law comes into play, when several types of money have a conversion ratio specified by legal tender laws, different from their market price."

I guess if there were no rules within hive for posting original content and rules for fiat ratios in an exchange for hive, then that would not matter?

As I mentioned, you have a few excellent points. It might be easier to say what a good or a bad post is for each one of us respectively? As everyone has their own taste, some might stick around because maybe one or two of our whales might have bad or good taste (being sarcastic)? I think depending on the community/'s that drives out bad actors, within hive, it's the community that ends up deciding that? I mean apart from posts that practically get zero attention even if they're really great, the payout or amount of upvotes shouldn't matter, when, as you said the audience for it could exist outside the blockchain as well. The question that remains is really if hive is suitable for everyone outside this blockchain who can't post anything without resorting to plagiarism? I am sure that anyone would agree that we need them for curating and investing. Goods and services have their value as much as content does. A lot of interesting information here has been of great service to me. Even if the ones who decided what great posts are for most of us on hive, this ends up being the payout amount more than the number of upvotes. Is this something unfortunate? There are some here, who don't care about upvotes and are just looking for a repository or a place to publish and time stamp their data and latest research. One with a great philosophy behind it? Maybe they don't care about the politics within it. Or for that matter don't do it to get attention from others. On social media quite often, content tends to follow a certain common narrative after a while, rather than to always stay new and original. I am sure anyone interested in knowing what was thought can then read it up on this blockchain once publishers are long gone. I think this does make everything meaningful, because the core idea is a very noble one? Until then it's fast living and my content too ephemeral for me to have to matter to anyone. To be honest I sometimes wonder who actually reads my blog posts and as long as it's at least my sister once in a while, that's fine. It's also why I can appreciate some blogs here. It's because they truly share something.

You are right. Amongst one million people macro economically everyone obeys the laws and regulations coming from an authority or central planning. In a free market, that consensus can be reached by individuals and the community that sets these moral standards. This way the system can not fall victim to one corrupted individual, by autocracy or an oligarchic system of governance?

Es klingt jetzt für dich vielleicht immer ein wenig - ich behaupte immer "Zeit nehmen, um Zeit zu haben." Gerade hier zahlt sich das mehr als aus :-)
