For this encounter, the semiotics of photography, ipso facto concentrated my gaze on the central point, there was no persuasion or incitement to other details or colors; only to the protagonist, who with unparalleled elegance, adorns the plate that carries it, yes, our arepa. To her my letters.

Venezuela, my country, is distinguished by its cultural diversity, expressed in symbolisms with our lifestyles, customs, traditions, gastronomy, habits, social relations and an extensive etc.

And in this, the arepa is part of our gastronomy; however, I must mention that it is not simply a food to taste; it is to name Venezuela, it is national identity, it is history. It is the aroma of the country, the flavor of tomorrow, it is nightfall, it is universal recognition, it is rootedness and protection of the autochthonous, it is you, it is me, it is us. It personifies beliefs, customs, traditions, regions and homes, with imperishable worldviews that endure from generation to generation.

Its original composition of corn, confers a neutral disposition, with a unique and incomparable capacity of adaptation and mastery; it is you and only you who decides, the filler or fillers to include, either by taste or convenience. It is you who will decide how consents your taste and olfactory buds are, how you delight in flavors and aromas. It can be the protagonist of your breakfasts and dinners; or be a faithful companion of main dishes at lunch.

Unlike other foods, the arepa is kind, accommodating and friendly; it allows you to decide how you want it in its original presentation, whether fried or grilled. Without meanness, always ready to innovate, it is an inciter to creativity, it is affable and affectionate with other foods immersed in its dough, it allows infinite combinations, multiplying itself in an immensity of variants. So you can know it as zucchini arepa, oatmeal arepa, bran arepa, carrot arepa, beet arepa, pumpkin arepa, plantain arepa, among others.

It also adopts different sizes and shapes, and thus pleases the region where it is found; the thin ones are the Andean ones, on the other hand, the small, plump and bulging ones are the arepas llaneras, the big ones are the oriental ones, in short, for all tastes.
