BREAKFAST IN FRIENDSHIPS

How, how? It makes me wonder about the memories, the laughs, the fights, and all of those stuff, did they really mean nothing? How do people go from being close friends to status viewers? How do people leave valuable relationships to chance?

Sometimes I wonder if others feel the same way I feel about break ups in platonic relationships or it's just me. Why do people tend to speak less on friendship break ups like it's nothing?

I've heard quite a number of people say "maybe it's time for them to leave" but I don't think people should go from being real Gs to just status viewers, just like that...

I'm a deep thinker, most times I can't help it, I look at people and wonder how they view certain issues like friendships.

I've been through quite a number of friendship break ups and they were quite painful. This doesn't mean I don't move on too, of course I do.

Well, I don't want to bore you with my rant. Why I'm writing this is to bring to our awareness that friendships matter, they should be treated with intentionality and not just left to chance.

Friendships don't have to be till death do us part, lol, but at the same time, we should not just leave people like they were just an opportunity to wile away time. The same way a guy can play a girl in a romantic relationship, is the same way people can play people in platonic relationships (maybe not intentionally, but I've seen it play out a number of times)

When last did you check up on your friend? Even if it was a text message, a simple call to find out their well being. Are you waiting for them to call first or check up first? Maybe this is why a lot of friendships break.
A simple comment on their status won't be bad either, a little here, a little there can go a long way.

If you've always been the one checking up, it's okay to take a step back and see if they will put in any effort also. If they are not, it's cool to let go, friendships should be mutual, not one sided.
You might be complaining that your friends don't check up on you, check your chats or call history, who texted or called last?

Even in romantic relationships, most times, the "friendship" is what keeps it going. I believe for any form of relationship to work, there should be a level of friendship involved.

I know when most of us read these kind of write ups, our minds travel to and fro the lives of other people, picking out things we think they need to improve on, as good as that's may be (if done with a sincere heart), it's better or even best to check yourself first. Note the areas you need to improve on first before thinking of someone else.

If we can be intentional about our friendships, I believe this world will be a better place to be.

Try as much as possible to be a good friend, help when you can, talk about things if need be, if you need something from your friend, don't leave them to assume, say it out, if you need them to apologize for something, discuss it respectfully, before you tell another person what your friend did wrong, tell your friend first! Remember also, YOU CANNOT BE RIGHT ALL THE TIME, accept your wrongs and work to correct them. It's honourable to do so.

Finally, if at all, you must part with someone, don't let the fault be from you.

Thanks for reading my rant 😊. Hope you were entertained and educated? Your upvotes and reblogs will be very much appreciated.
