Splinterlands - Chaos Water Magic Are A Steal...

One of the most popular setups in the game is the water splinter with magic monsters. This likely starts off with the summoners that give magic boost.

With the first ever water summoners in the game providing +1 magic to all monsters it became a staple for water to go with magic.

Alpha Or Beta Water Magic

Medusa and Mischievous Mermaid paved the way toward a combo of magic monsters to setup in the formation. Both monsters had mid numbers of mana hence were often able to be setup in almost any type of formation. They were simply staples in the game when using water magic. However the real stars of the formation came from the rewards series.

Water Magic Rewards

The first reward cards were Sea Genie and then Ruler of the Seas. When Ruler of the Seas came out it did not take long for it to become more than just a rewards legend. It became a staple for all water magic formations and well deserved. The blast ability at default base level 1 with a magic 2 attack gave it explosive and powerful attack.

As new series of cards came out so did some new water magic monsters. Now in the Chaos series there is the Djinn Oshannus. At under $2.50 for a legend with a high health and speed stat combined with a minimum 2 magic attack it definitely is a good add to a magic water setup.

Before I move on let me justify why I am saying Chaos water magic monsters are a steal. If we look at Untamed water magic cards look at the starting price:

All but Ice Pixie if bought in multiple bcx would the cost be lower than that of the 1 bcx Djinn Oshannus. It is the Phantom of the Abyss that is closest to Djinn when comparing stats but price wise its not a factor of > 20x for the Phantom versus Djinn. One can max a Djinn and still not be enough for 1 bcx Phantom. Not to take anything from the Phantom but most players won't have that kind of money to throw for one card.

Water Magic Chaos

When Chaos came out the magic monsters for water did not disappoint.

River Nymph is a great supporting monster for the formation with ability Cleanse. Then there is Nerissa Tridawn who just out right is a blunt force of magic with a one bcx rating of three magic. Meanwhile another water legend card with magic in River Hellondale makes it now four water legendary monsters with magic.

Although I do not have a max level of the water magic legends I can say I have four cards and have use it before in formations. In formations 50 and higher I have the chance to put the four monsters in a setup if I wanted to go with water magic. I do not win all battles but most with these monsters on the field.

It is worth noting that both Phantom and Ruler of the Sea each 1 bcx is more than max level of either Djinn Oshannus or River Hellondale. Yet the latter two are formidable monsters to use in water magic.

Conclusions

If you ever felt water magic is too expensive to play just look at Chaos water magic monsters. From there you realize that it is not as bad as you think it is. Reminder when water magic came out there were only two monsters in Medusa and Mermaid. Neither put out explosive attacking like Phantom and Ruler of the Seas. However in time with the new card series rolling out came affordable options for water magic. Chaos is proof of that.
