Splinterlands - End Of Season Preparations...

The end of season is upon us and I see plenty of players excel in the final hours by reaching new leagues that they have never reached before. Some got all the way to Diamond League. Kudos to all.

While all this is happening there will be a few things that happens at the end of the season and near the beginning of a new season. I am here to talk about some of those events now in anticipation for what may again be a repeat and allow players who have not been through multiple seasons learn from what I have learned over the time I have been involved in this game.

Do you ever wonder why near the beginning of the season the DEC rewards for rank battles are extremely high? A tool I use, link above, shows the current status of DEC reward pool for players who win in rank battles. The higher the reward pool the more DEC earned per a win even if a player's Energy Capture Rate (ECR) is lowered. the reward pool is based on a lot of factors but the most crucial one that usually happens in every new season is the amount of battles played the day after the previous season has ended.

With so many players pushing to try to get to top ranks they spent most of their ECR on the last day of the season battling away. In turn the following day there is less players with full ECR making each win take less DEC out of the pool. This will lead to a greater pool of DEC in the following second day of the new season as there is most likely double the DEC reward in the pools. DEC distribution is added everyday, therefore on second day when more players have their ECR full they will likely rake in more than double their usual earnings per battle win.

I personally will not be pushing beyond my draining my ECR under 75% in anticipation to play at full rate come the second day of the new season. I may forfeit the earnings of a few reward chests but I prefer earning more DEC in battle wins. For my current league end of season rewards I have the math to back up my reasoning to go for DEC earnings instead of end of season reward chests.

There is not much of a difference, a little over 300 DEC in rewards based on estimates of what are the values per a chest. To try to get to one league rating higher while draining my ECR I won't be able to capitalize on the bigger DEC pool rewards come early in the season. I rather take the odds and play more down the road to likely have better chances of earning more in rank battles.

Having observed the Splinterland's cards open markets for a while I have seen the same pattern occur near the beginning of the season in every season. That pattern is that some players will unload their reward cards at the lowest current market price in hopes of getting more DEC for what they want to purchase. This lack of patience will be a benefit for those who are patient. With some DEC on the side I have saved in every season I look forward to seeing some of the reward cards drop in value as more players unload theirs on the market.

Keep an eye out for some amazing deals as players open their reward chests and start selling off their reward cards. It maybe wise to learn about peakmonster's automated bidding if you do not know it. Over at peakmonsters they will have bots to assist in your purchase of cards and if your bid is the highest you likely be the first to be able to purchase. Note the best part about it is the purchasing is all automated and all you do is input your bid prices for specific cards of interest. When in the market there are cards at a price lower than your bidding value you peakmonsters will automatically purchase the card with your DEC at that offer price. So you can potentially save on purchasing the cards by having a bot automatically purchase the cards for you.

At the end of season I always want to record my results of the prior season and I do so with the use of a great tool Kiokizz created in link above. Once you sign in through Hive keychain the app will automatically load your previous seasons results. You get to see how well you played with records of wins, losses and other activity stats. Furthermore it will list your DEC earned and DEC equivalent in reward chests for daily quest and end of season. In addition it will list rental earnings/spending and any rewards earned in questing. The tool is simply a go to for many who want to see their season's stats.

Conclusions

At the end of every season everyone is who plays is always excited to get their reward chests and opening them. This season is no exception. However I come to play enough seasons that I prefer to take advantage of some of the more useful opportunities out there near the end of a season. Whether it is preparing to earn more DEC in the beginning of a new season or be ready to purchase discounted reward cards I am ready to do so. What are you doing near end of the season?
