Splinterlands - My Experience With Goblin Psychic (Share Your Battle)

Another Chaos Legions card to review for the week and am excited about this one as I like the heal ability. Here is a battle I had using Goblin Psychic.

Formations

A low mana of 19 this would be consider limited in monsters but what turned out to be my opponent putting out six monsters seem to first make it appear that they had the advantage. It did not take long for things to change as my setup was ready to counter.

My selection of earth splinter came from the limited splinters allowed in battle. Both water and fire were not allowed. My next best selection would be death however I knew before the battle started my opponent favored in the use of death and with that I knew they would likely use monsters with low health. I therefore went with earth splinter in hopes to have the quick decisive powerful blows.

My formation consist of Rexxie followed with Venari Scout, Goblin Psychic and ending with Furious Chicken. The formation key is in Rexxie as I wanted to use trample to go through my opponent's formation.

Speaking of opponent formation they had Furious Chicken leading off followed by Creeping Ooze, Haunted Spirit, Undead Priest, Silent Sha-Vi, and ending with Halfing Alchemist. The key to this formation is likely just in quantities as position of monsters did not appear to be effective and also summoner level 2 limited monsters potentials.

Round 1

The chickens were killed immediately but then Rexxie knocked out Creeping Ooze and almost Haunted Spirit. On my end the Rexxie is appeared to be in control of the match.

Round 2

image.png

The match is now down to 3 versus 2 monsters and it seems I was in the lead. However it is not ideal as my Goblin Psychic is knocked out in middle of round 2. Its now life and death with what I have left and against some interesting abilities in Weaken, Sneak, and Halving.

Round 3

The Rexxie and Venari is a neat combo indeed as at the end of the round its down to one monster on my opponent. A solid victory would be due.

Round 4

The match ends with me having the Rexxie barely survive to get through the match.

Conclusions

The plan from the get go was to attack hard and fast. It worked out for me in the end but the supplement in Goblin Psychic did not work as planned. I wanted Goblin to be support in healing my monsters but it was knocked out pretty quickly.

On the other hand my combo of Rexxie and Venari took the cake as it lead to my victory. The trample worked twice and basically knocked out the formation while Venari was able to snip away opponents with the opportunity ability. All in all earth splinter appear to be a good selection for this battle.

Until next time thanks for reading!!!

@mawit07(2/10) gave you LUV. H-E tools | connect | <><

Given the current emission rate of LUV pushing 500/day, increases to required LUV levels will likely be forthcoming.
