Splinterlands - Some Perspectives Over on Wax Chain

In less than a week we will be seeing the promo card Waka arrive over on the Splinterlands in game open market available for purchase. Originally they were set to offer on Wax chain but demand for the card was lacking.

What is so surprising to me is that over on Wax chain there are plenty of investors in NFTs yet not enough a demand to purchase the official Splinterlands promo Waka card offering.

Based on Atomichub Splinterlands is ranked 10th in most sales of assets for WAX. This is impressive stat considering the game is not really played on WAX but Hive chain. Yet cards can migrate over to WAX chain to be sold or traded.

From there we can some very interesting stats in regards to Splinterlands.

There are some amazing sales that occurred on atomichub. Top sales were in the mid six figures, one close to 3/4 of a million dollars.

The top three assets sales ever to date on atomichub are the regions plots from Splinterlands. In combined total of all three it was sold close to $1.4 million. The total amount to date sold on Splinterlands is a little under $5.9 million.

With an overall ranking at #11 it is nothing to laugh about.

There is strong demand for Splinterlands assets as we can see they hold the top sold assets on WAX and their overall sale is ranked 11th among many WAX games and NFT assets currently available.

Yet here we are in less than a month and the Splinters offer of its promo card Waka over on WAX chain flopped. Not getting even 5% of all its regular cards sold seems very weak. What could be the cause of this?

It may come down to what I think is a positive for Splinterlands. What I want to suggest is that since there is strong demand for Splinterlands assets it comes in the form of $ more than in participation. That is players who are invested in the game are willing to spend more to buy assets rather than millions of players flaunting into the game.

The latter is something where developers of the game will have a difficult time to sustain. In order to keep more and more players interested in the game there would need to be continuous updates and incentives to lure and keep players interested. While on the other hand there are loyal fans or players who simply see a lot of potential in the game and have deep pockets to spend.

There is demand for game assets, but only a few are willing to buy. In turn those few are buying more and at higher prices. This has made the impression of the game being very popular over on WAX but the reality was only a few with a lot of crypto were buying up assets. Now with Waka out for all to purchase there are too few buyers that are willing to pay for the card.

What do you think as the cause/s of Waka's failure to sell over on WAX chain. It sure looks like the game have been successful in sales since it started selling over on WAX. Yet here we are seeing Waka unable to get sold.
