Splinterlands - Using Dragons (Weekly Battle Post)

When I first started collecting Splinterlands cards I have always had a fondness for dragon monsters. Especially for the three alpha legends in Lightning Dragon, Chromatic Dragon, and Gold Dragon. In the span of the nearly three years of game play I have been fortunate enough to be owning alpha versions of each monster. As new card series came out I gradually added other well sought after dragon monsters. A few of them became max level monsters but as a whole my dragon legendaries collection is worth slightly north of $6k.

Use of Gold Dragon!!!

What I would considered as the most sought after dragon monster card currently is the Gold Dragon. I own a level 2 alpha version of it and use it in battles when ever I need to apply magic attacks. The following battle is one such battle where Gold Dragon help me to win.

Formations

My formation starts with Sea Monster follow up by Manticore, Sea Genie, Ice Pixie, Gold Dragon, and end with Water Elemental. A full range of attacks from melee to magic and ending with range. Each monsters will have their chance to attack from round 1.

My opponent goes with earth splinter with Nectar Queen, Stone Golem, Sand Worm, Tower Griffin, Wood Nymph, and ending with Cornelaus. The formation is also mixed in forms of attacks however Stone Golem will only be able to attack only when Nectar Queen is knocked out.

Round 1

My formation knocked out my opponent's Nectar Queen and I my formation remained intact after the first round. It is worth noting the rule set earthquake is not factoring in to my monsters since all have a way to fend of rule set's damage. Whether it is flying ability or self heal.

Round 2

In the next round my Sea Monster is knocked out. However in return my opponent loses Stone Golem and Sand Worm. I still have the upper hand in a five against three monsters. In addition Tower Griffin is a range monster therefore it is unable to attack. This really makes five against two then.

Round 3 and 4

The end came for my opponent as round three ended with only their Cornealus left. It would take the next round to knock out Cornealus but my victory was achieved in round four.

Battle Conclusion

From the get go my formation had the advantage due mainly because my monsters had higher levels. All monsters in my formation exceeded my opponents. Shocker! In addition I had four out of six monsters that would nullify rule set earthquake while my opponent had two monsters.

This feature battle had dragon summoner followed by two of six monsters being dragon splinter. The star of the show really would have to be gold dragon as its magic 3 attack was taking full advantage of the monsters.
