What Is The Power Of YET?!

You may not be good at something YET.

Be carefule that you do not accidentally talk yourself into failure. You really need to be your own biggest fan. Life is really hard especially if you are trying to start your own business. Regardless of whether or not your business is online, it can be very challenging.

We really need to look at the language we us toward ourselves. The language we us to describe ourselves implants an image in the back of our minds. That image that is in the back of our minds is what gets projected outward.

I know this sounds like some foo foo new age crap. It is just basic pyschology. If we do not think we can do something chance are we will fail because we have already defeated ourselves. In the martial arts when we would teach new students how to break boards we start with worn out rebreakable boards to build their confidence.

Confidence is Everything

In order for us to build our own confidence is to have about 5 or 6 quick wins. If you are in a program where you need to recruit or sell products or services, your self esteem can really get murdered quickly. So rather than try to sell or recruit just make 1 new FaceBook friend. Rather than verbally berating yourself maybe you can support yourself with kind language.

Please keep in mind that, I had to learn, that I was really hard on myself. If I was my own parent I would be in trouble for being abusive. That does not make any real sense but I would join groups and opportunities feed money into them and then do nothing with it. What is worse I would shut people out and wonder why I never really did well with anything.

The worst thing of all is this was a cyclic pattern. I did this over and over again. My close friends and family would watch my tumble down this rabbit hole. When they would reach out I would dismiss them with a quick "You're just not being supportive." Painful truth is they were right.

Be Patient With Yourself

Unless you are sitting on a huge pile of capital where you can delegate 100% of your online business to paid professionals, you have a lot of new skills to learn. Imagine teaching a 5 year old how to read "Clifford The Big Red Dog" The 5 year old stumbles on the words and needs a bit of help. Could you really imagine losing your temper on the 5 year old?

Nope, I do not thing you would lose your temper with the screaming and cursing on a 5 year old struggling to read. In the world of online business we are all like five year olds trying to read.

Our language is crucial Rather than saying, "I am not good at sales." The better more successful statement would be “I am not good at sales yet, but I am getting better everyday!!” (with enthusiasm)

It Will Take Some Practice

We do not master the power of YET, or anything else for that matter, without a whole lot of practice. For me it was wearing a rubber band on my wrist and everytime I would say something negative SNAP!!
Now I say yet all the time and I am doing things I never ever thought I would do.

The game Splinterlands almost broke me, I slipped and did not us the power of yet, instead I whined in the CTP Telegram Group like a 5 year old with a skinned knee. I could not win a battle to save my life. I wanted to join a guild, but if I can't win a battle, I can't complete quests. The good people at Index Squad guild #ctpcontent assured me that does not matter I just need to be active.

I joined the the Index Squad guild Wednesday evening, just a few days later Saturday afternoon I just completed my first quest. Had I just given up I never would have had this small success giving my confidence another boost.

Remember the power of YET, and that every day we all get a little bit better.
