The science about the sun is fare from settled! In general all we know for sure is that the earth is flat, we have many proofs of that!
We dont have any proof, we have misunderstandings of basic science. The sun, regardless of it being small or close would illuminate that whole earth all the time

I do do my own research. It doesn't matter how small or big the sun is or how far away it is. It would still illuminate that entire flat earth. Light and its travel is very well understood.

Dude. It's all in the clouds. The elevation is constant and they wrap around the planet. They're always above your head. They look like they're touching the ground off in the distance. Call your buddy and ask him if his head is the clouds. He'll say no. Guaranteed. There would be an observable gap at all times between the horizon and clouds off in the distance if things were flat. There are always clouds somewhere. On a clear day, you'd always be able to see clouds if things were flat.

These social media tools are incredibly powerful, those who invented them know exactly what they're capable of, and at times when they go around stamping out some forms of independently produced media, they're not attempting to stop the information from spreading, they simply don't want to be responsible for the worst case scenario doomsday cult, nor do they want to be responsible for the steps that led up to it. In many cases they're not looking at the information, they're looking at the consumers and their reaction. I've been meaning to write an article about that for some time now.

Shortly after though, they introduce the necessary us vs them which helps put the mind at ease, offers a sense of trust and belonging, making the mind more susceptible to the power of suggestion.
It's not hard to see who's being responsible with their influence and who isn't, especially when being an outsider just comes naturally. The problem holding me back from tackling this subject and publishing my thoughts and findings is simple. How do I deliver the message without being what I'm speaking against.

There are things we have discovered scientifically and there are things yet to be discovered. We know that the earth is flat, we have many different proofs of that, we know the sun is small and close compared to, millions of miles away and huge, we have proof of that. We DO NOT KNOW what the sun is, there is consensus among flat earthers that the science regarding the sun is yet to be discovered.
That answers your question.

Not worthy of my time. The ancient Greeks worked out the size of a ball Earth thousands of years ago. The 'debate' was settled long ago, but contrarian types like to think they know different.
Should I go up in a rocket like this guy to 'do my own research'. Watching Youtube is not research and there are plenty out there happy to feed your delusion, but it does no harm as long as you are not going to pilot a passenger plane. The shape of the Earth is a factor in long distance navigation.

It's not too hard to look like an authoritative source online even though some of their arguments are so flimsy. Just make a flashy video and spout a load of nonsense. I get that people want to believe there are alternatives to the orthodoxy to feel part of a special 'enlightened' minority, but it's mostly bullshit. Why not care about real issues such as corporations profiting from destroying the planet and politicians lying about their real intentions? Plenty of fake conspiracies around that too, but enough real stuff to be worried.
I totally agree. I believe there is some misdirection at work similar in style as to what the big tobacco companies did with their funding of pro tobacco groups and fake science nonsense.
