Hive Fest Interview with TDC TUNES

As we know Hive Fest is fast approaching which is the annual meeting of all things awesome on Hive including community members. With this years event being held in Amsterdam I thought it would be great to put together an interview before and after to capture the moment.

This will be the first in person event since COVID hit and there are still quite a few tickets available, for the interview we speaking with @tdctunes to mark the monumental event. This interview will also give you the first look into one of the awesome community contributions.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your Hive experience?
I'm a modular synth artist and producer and I joined Hive in September 2021. I quickly realised it's not like other places online in that the community is way more engaged and within a couple of months it became the place I focus most on when sharing and talking about my music. I'm also an active Rising Star player and you can buy NFTs of my tracks within the game!
Oh wow that is really great to know we are growing some really wonderful community members that produce great content. I share the same experience as you in that regard, I joined Hive and stayed for the friendships and the ever growing community

Have you ever been to a Hive Fest before? If so, what were they like?
Only the virtual one last year - which was another eye opener for me. It was the first time I could interact with follow Hivers by voice and in real time and I made some great connections in a short space of time.
I found that Hive Fest to be quite cutting edge and amazing, I wasn't able to attend due to time zones but the use of Hive in that way really showcased the endless possibilities

What made you want to attend this year's event?
It was an instant yes from me - Hive is where my music has been received best and I've already made many great friends. I will also be bringing my modular synthesiser and playing a set at Hive Fest - what an opportunity! So all in all, this could be the most important event of the year for me!
Fantastic news and thank you for sharing that information with us and I can't help but think how great Hive is for not only providing you an avenue to share and grow your career but also connect with people from across the globe.

What are you hoping to get out of this year's event?
Mostly making connections. And learning. I've met a bunch of people through Hive but I think attending Hive Fest could give me a chance to interact much more broadly with people I haven't necessarily come across.
I will also be bringing my family! They aren't yet on Hive but I hope to give them a taste of what it's all about!

What is one thing you hope to see or learn at this year's event?
I think the answer to that is - probably something I don't know I need to know yet! I think that's the beauty of coming together in one space. I'll have knowledge and ideas thrown at me that aren't yet on my radar!
That is the benefit of coming together in person, it provides the ability to network, discuss and grow together. I find in person meetings to be more beneficial for the broader network and believe the previous events have led to further developments and ideas

What are your thoughts on the event being hosted in Amsterdam?
It's a decent location for me coming from London. I'm paying a bit extra to come by Eurostar because I love travelling by train and also it means I won't have to worry about checking in my modular synth (the portable version being a bit bigger than carry on dimensions).
The travel opportunities overseas are quite impressive and it will be a great journey with the family being able to spend some quality time together.
