Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween

img_0.3750429542279327.jpg

If any of you remember, this giant Halloween pirate skeleton is at the same house that was decorated with a huge paintbrush on the second story dripping a rainbow full of paint onto the sidewalk for gay pride month. These guys do decorations in a big way!

Most of the Halloween decorations that were seen this year were zombies and spooks! I didn't get any photos of happy smiling jack-o'-lanterns.

Yeah, Yeah, I am having a great sunday indeed, exquisite and fascinating pictures by the way.

That pirate skeleton looks awesome in those outfits. 😆 I wonder who made and designed them up.

Thanks a lot and Happy Halloween to you also. 😋😎

I am not gay, but I still like that "Don't be afraid to show your true colors" message on that decoration. It has a deeper message than many people think. This comment comes from a 29 years old autistic person. Greetings from Hungary.

I love that message, too! People who are brave enough to be themselves are my favorite people to have as friends!

Happy Halloween to you! The skeleton in the first photo looks so huge. It seems pretty cool to me, hehe.

It is huge and certainly gets your attention! I bet the neighborhood kids love trick-or-treating at that house.

There's always a bunch of home and residences that are regularly FULL TILT!
I hope I can get some down time to check out neighborhood before this evening.

I was thinking that pirate skeleton would look good in your front yard as a Halloween decoration!

Some people go over the top with holiday decorating! I have a pumpkin sitting on my front steps.🎃😂

That's really nice. My kids are too big and grown up. However, I did get visited by quite a few kids from the neighbourhood which was nice. Luckily I was well prepared!

Even my grandkids are big and growing up fast! I don't get any trick or treaters. The houses are too far apart and the neighborhood is dark. They can get a much better haul if they stay in town!

You are so lucky to have grandkids!! Make the most of them. My kids are getting into marriage age so perhaps I am not too far away.

Thanks for replying. !LUV

Haha. I remember that house with that huge paintbrush. You did a post on this for PhotoChain and you won. How can I forget. Now the giant pirate decor for Halloween. Can't wait for Christmas 😄

We don't celebrate Halloween that much here in our country. Mostly the Halloween decorations are inside the malls and restaurants. What we celebrate here is Christmas and that's when all the decorations come out. And when I say decorations I mean serious decorations! One house here always have a giant Santa on his sled being pulled by reindeers, all lit up with Christmas carols to boot. But since the pandemic the decors have toned down quite a bit and have been mostly just colorful Christmas lights around the houses. But this may change this year with more and more people vaccinated. There's more reason to be festive again 🤗

Love this post @melinda010100.

Happy Halloween.

Fun photos though, even without the smiling Jack.

Happy Halloween, Melinda. Halloween is not celebrated here although it is gaining more prominence due to businesses trying to cash in on whatever events that can keep their tills ringing. Of course, this year, it is an almost non-event due to the pandemic. Keep safe.

Does your culture have any traditions to honor the ancestors at this time of year? Like so many long time traditions we have commercialized this one beyond recognition.

We have the QingMing festival which falls in the first week of April.

Chinese families visit the tombs of their ancestors to clean the gravesites, pray to their ancestors and make ritual offerings. Offerings would typically include traditional food dishes and the burning of joss sticks and joss paper. The holiday recognizes the traditional reverence of one's ancestors in Chinese culture.

But, that will soon be a thing of the past. There won't be any cemeteries left. It would all be columbariums.
