She got an order already a month ago for a yule log! Some people think far ahead. I'm only now beginning to think about turkey and cranberries!

That reminds me of what my mother said last week. Although she loves Christmas too, she said she just needed to get past Thanksgiving first. Thinking ahead and making a plan and trying to think on them both was too much.
I always get the Christmas spirit too early, but it is fun to have something to look forward too. I love our family Thanksgiving as well, but we don't have other traditions really besides that Thanksgiving day feast. Food galore will be there and I will do my part, but to me that doesn't take a lot of early planning or gathering unless your part has an ingredient that might not be available at the last minute. I take the day off before Thanksgiving day, so I have plenty of time to do my thing then and lots of times our gathering is on Thanksgiving evening, so I also have the first half of the day if I still need more time.
Christmas on the other hand has multiple events and presents AND food.... so lots more planning and forethought needed. I like it though, so it doesn't feel like a chore to me. What else do I have to do ?!
