A couple of weeks back, I wrote a post about Gold Foil Promo cards that give you an additional +20% per card played. The other edition that provides you an extra +20% is the Gold Foil Alpha cards.

Alpha cards have been long out of print, and their prices have been in insanity territory for quite a while. Nonetheless, the rental market gives us a viable option to add these cards to our collections. However, the rental prices for the Gold Foil Alpha cards are pretty expensive.

But don't worry, I still went ahead and grabbed a list of Gold Foil Alpha cards that are less than 30 DEC ($0.21) a day to rent and then used the past 7 seasons of usage data of the top 100 players provided by @jacekw to see which cards would be helpful for new players to rent while not breaking the bank.

Fire Beetle

A low mana cost range monster with the snipe ability that can prove very useful in many rulesets.

Crustacean King

A low mana cost range monster with the tank heal ability. It's not a surprise that this card is high up the list as it's an almost always automatic inclusion for any Water Splinter battles.

Feral Spirit

I am sensing a trend here – another low mana cost melee monster with the sneak ability, which can do helpful damage in many rulesets.
