Another week has gone by in my challenge to open 1000 Chaos Legion packs, and I will closely monitor and transparently share all details about the challenge in these posts.

Road to opening 1000 Chaos Legion Packs Week 42 Update

In week eight of this challenge, I opened a Gold Foil Chaos Dragon, which helped boost the numbers of the fledgling challenge. Oh, how naïve I was back then. Nonetheless, 34 updates later and eight months later, I finally bagged another Gold Foil Legendary. This time I arguably managed to bag a better reward, a Gold Foil Legendary Grandmaster Rathe, which is currently valued at $150. While I am ecstatic to receive the card as it makes the overall numbers of the challenge healthier, it still boggles my mind as to how cheap the Chaos Legion cards (and in general splinterlands cards) are. For context, I play another #Play2Earn/#Pay2Earn crypto game, Sorare, and the bear market has had its effect on the game, but if you had to tell me that one of the better cards in the game was available for $150 I would maxing out my credit card to buy multiples of it. Nonetheless, this post is not about getting into the effects of the bear market on the splinterlands ecosystem, and this week's pack opening was precisely the injection I needed for the final stretches of the challenge.

Key Cards

A Gold Foil Legendary is beautiful and even better when it's a top card like the Grandmaster Rathe. Also, Carnage Titan finally joins the ranks of other Chaos Legion monsters at a max playable level for one of my alt accounts in Gold I. Finally, the Magi of Chaos and Adelade Brightwing join the rental pool to stack up that daily DEC rental income.
