HBD or HP That's the Question

avatar

The last week's HBD and 20% APR were the talks of the town. It's obvious why. Locking some HBD to get significant amounts of "free" money every month is quite the deal. But with the last days filled with turbulence and Hive diving below 50 cents, I started to wonder if moving some HBD back into Hive to power up my account would make sense. a two-to-one ratio is pretty nice when coming from a one-to-one ratio just a little while back.

For those who own a crystal ball, I would love to hear your views on this. Do you think we will go down further with Hive in the coming weeks or months, or will it pop back north of the one-dollar level?

Just asking for a friend here.

It is pretty obvious: Change all the HBD now to Hive, and once Hive has recovered to 1$, you will need only the half of it to buy back the HBD. Easy money.

Sounds solid, but will we drop further and when will we be above 1$ will be the things I would like to know before moving around numbers.

This nobody can know. But I hope the worst is over. In less than 6 mo. we should be at least in the 80c range again!

I also think 0.80 is not very far behind us. But I still hesitate in waiting.

Hive any Day , I converted HBD to Hive even at $2.5 , so it is good for me.

Back in the day, it would be an easy decision for me, but the 20% APR on a stable coin is also quite good. And with stable coin a refer not to some particular coin that showed some unwanted behaviour over the past week :-)

I definitely believe we will be kicking back up to about 0.9 dollar per hive and even more. Altho the market is always very difficult to predict.
But I'm certain of hive not going anywhere below the last price we had of about 0.3 dollar per hive.
Let's go to the moon 🌝
There is better haha

Yep I sold all my HBD ($600) to go to 1700 Hive and immediately powered it up... seemed like a no-brainer to me!

I will buy Hive if i see it in the .20 or .10. HBD at 20% is where i have put my investment at this point! I hope it's a good choice!! Adulting is HARD!! When u figure it out. Please!! Let me know. :)

Yeah, life is easier if it wouldn't have choices :p I'm also not sure how to do it. I'm 35 and I'm basically still in school...

I have the feeling that it might be a good decision, However, when I think so, it is often not.
I decided not to exchange my HBD for hive for now. My HIVE is already growing faster now considering that my posts make now more hive than HBD. But hey, this might be a choice to regret later.

I went full-on HBD after I realized it had a 12% APR. I then was even more enthusiastic when it went up to 20%. For now, I will follow your strategy. I'm hoping it might drop a little further in the coming months.

In the end, it is not that I'm losing money. It's just missing an additional opportunity. There will be new ones around the corner if I didn't get the current one :-)

I by the way also invested more in some of the upvoteshares, might be an idea, especially if you buy enough for some curation rewards :)

Oh yeah, that's a good idea! I have already the minimum shares needed for a daily upvote. Perhaps in one of the next rounds I buy some more!

Thanks for reminding me :-)

That's a good question. I just bought a couple of HIVEs earlier today (at some point, the move has to be made). I now hesitate to convert them to HBD. Maybe should I wait? Maybe not? Who knows... ;)

PS: I won't help you with your question as I cannot even help myself...

A little further in the future, I can perfectly help you with that question. It will only be regarding today's situation though... :)
