Maybe that was a great decision by your elders to delay your exposure to coffee.
I am also a late starter with drinking coffee.

I think that if I had been drinking coffee since I was a child, I wouldn't enjoy it as much as I do now.
It's still a couple of cups a day. My family has a thermos to go tasting from morning to afternoon.
