Regret or not.

First of all, let's be grateful to the Almighty for keeping us safe and sound. I believe almost everyone is safe and sound, that's why I am able to write this and you are reading. Sometimes we forget about our healthy life and tend to run after the unhealthy(money) one. Everything seems to be related to that. Well, there are too many things related to money but sometimes we gotta realize some things that are way far more important.

Sanjib Ahmed, a businessman who is facing some tough days due to covid and lockdown issues. His new business got the curse of covid and couldn’t do a good start. So after such a miserable pandemic, he is counting the loss he did. He is passing days with great regret and cursing his luck. Well, he did a huge loss that can't be ignored easily. Somehow he is managing himself back to the pace of life but the drawback he faced is beyond forgettable in his point of view.

One of his friends got sick and was covid affected. His lungs were damaged. As a close friend Sanjib Ahmed witnessed the miseries his friend faced. He saw the struggle to find an ICU bed, he saw the sufferings of his friend, he saw how much money he had to spend. At that time money was not the priority because his health was way more important. His family was also at the threat of getting affected. But thanks to the Almighty that they were safe and only his friend faced all the sufferings. After a lot of days of treatment, his friend's condition was satisfactory. After that storm, Sanjib Ahmed just prayed to the Almighty as he and his family are safe from any kind of disaster. He also never regretted again about the loss he did at his business.

There are numerous incidents around us like this one I described above. Can't you relate? I bet you can. This one is truly something we all need to realize. Let me admit that, "Money is everything." but sometimes we gotta keep that aside and be grateful for ourselves too. What would be acceptable to you? A monetary loss in business or an accident over your physical health? I would like to go with the first one. I can accept a monetary loss. When we get sick it's not only our body that is suffering, we make a monetary loss in that too, our mental health also gets hampered. Don't regret those monetary ones, if you are hale and healthy then you can make way more than that. Having a mindset of such helps you to overcome so many problems in life, gives you the strength to accept the hardships of life.

My mother often says this to us. Maybe I have told this once before that she thinks the monetary loss is nothing to keep regretting on and on, this damage could have happened to yourself physically too. The Almighty kept you safe. That's enough to be thankful, if you are hale and healthy you can make more of that. So have this mindset and try to reduce regrets for our monetary loss and be thankful to Almighty. That's enough!

I think I have mentioned this in the server a few days back how one of the senior officials has died due to covid... and I too was suffering from flu just a month ago... I still suspect I had the virus but I made full recovery for which I'm grateful of... I have seen so many friends and acquaintances lost their jobs and businesses due to this horrid pandemic and going through irredeemable losses but somehow just being alive and well makes them hopeful to hold on a thread of hope that things will turn up better in the end

Yes yes, you did.
Yesterday I too experienced the same incident from someone I know.

You did a good recovery without any major problem, thankful to Allah.May Allah keep all of us safe from the horrors of the pandemic.

i don't think that money is everything because I know people who do not have as much as I do who are living a decent and happy life. I prioritize my friends, health over money any time, any day.

Yeah, that's how it should have been always. Glad to know your opinion, mate.

It was relatable 😞
In my circle, whenever I used to share this perspective of "monetary loss" or "not to regret", people used to look at me as am saying something really out of space stuff. I was always determined about the impression of regret because I feel it drains one both mentally and physically. Sometimes due to regret, we start over-thinking and it leads to many health issues like anxiety problems, high blood pressure as stress levels increase, and let us not forget early grey hair (the visible sign). Even after knowing about all the negative sides of regretting, some people are so much intertwined with it that it is difficult to get them out.

I am really happy that there is someone of the same mindset in a millennium 😄 May I request something? If it is possible can you please share your way of presenting or persuing others in believing this perspective of your mother's "momentary loss"? I know I may be am asking for too much of a thing but if possible do share. I would be truly looking up for it as mere words for me didn't work much, persuasion is hard.

Yeah, it is very hard to skip the regret after a monetary loss. Well, not to skip completely, that will be minimizing. It does hurt us but we gotta control ourselves not to hamper more. Something worse than that could happen too. Covid situation is proving that every day.

Actually, I drag that thought of my mom from an incident my family had faced recently which I had mentioned in another writing somewhere. My elder brother lives abroad and he did lose a good amount of money somehow. My mom didn’t regret that because the safety of my brother was major to her. If something had happened to him physically that would have hurt her way more than that. She was thankful to the Almighty.

Btw thanks a lot for the time that you have read and shared your experience too.

mhm. Indeed it is true, health and safety always come first.

About minimizing regret, I feel learning from mistakes can be a better way to deal with the situation than regretting it. As regretting brings down many negative emotions along with it. But, you are right, the first step can be by minimizing the feeling of regret, I guess this also takes a good amount of time for some people. Thanks for your response.

If you ever step into crypto trading then this one would help you unbelievably.
Having the mentality to take losses and learning from them is a great lesson in trading.

Thanks for your response.
