The independent national electoral commission in Nigeria, after the just concluded election on the 25th day of February 2023, has now sought an amendment to court orders so that they can reconfigure the electoral material used in the just concluded election. This was followed by the opposition party of the APC after they won the election sued them to court over electoral result rigging.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has urged the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal to amend the orders that were granted to candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP), Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, respectively, to inspect materials used for the last presidential election source.

Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), which was the main electoral material used by electoral officers, is becoming obsolete as Nigeria advances in technology and turns from the normal manual voting method to an electronic one. The People's Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP), who were the strong opposing parties to the party that emerged as the president elect, felt that there was much rigging on the election day, which was initiated from the material used in the election, and sought a recheck of the electoral material as the law court gave them the go-ahead order.

Lagos lawyer Festus Ogun noted, “In my opinion, I think the court is functus officio." By making the order, INEC cannot go back to court, seeking to vary its order, unless they can prove fraud or misrepresentation.
But the argument they are canvassing is that they want to reconfigure the BVAS because of the election coming up over the weekend source.

Implying more about this set-up move from the people's democratic party that had the president-elect, named Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, to court by reverting the order already given to the opposition party to distribute the electoral materials used in conducting elections How could this be taken into consideration in the very first place by the stake chairs of the APC party before trying to get it in court when they already know that the BVAS machine contains the data of the already conducted election?

This already is a pure indication that there is something fishy about the results of the votes before they were released. The stake chairs in APC are now trying to play smart over the elections as they might have manipulated the results, and going to the BEVAS to reconfigure it will have the evidence held against them formatted.
