Today I show you a work of a Santa Claus, long legs so he has ease to sit on the tree or anywhere. This character is a very important being in this Christmas time. It is the one that every child loves and wants to meet in this month because he is the one who rewards good behavior throughout the year with a beautiful and meaningful gift. We will give a brief explanation.

Hoy les muestro un trabajo de un Santa Claus, piernas largas para que tenga facilidad de sentarse en el árbol o en cualquier lugar. Este personaje es un ser muy importante en esta fecha navideña. Es el que todo niño ama y desea conocer en este mes porque es el que premia el buen comportamiento en todo el año con un hermoso y significativo regalo. Pasamos a dar una breve explicación.

Step by step//Paso a paso

Materials//Materiales:

• Red and white fabric scraps and felt.
• Sewing thread.
• Sewing needle.
• Stuffing.
• Circular molds. D=11cms, D=19cms.
• Scissors.
• Pins.
• Silicone.
• A gift.
• White yarn (hair, beard, mustache).

• Retazos de tela y fieltro color rojo y blanco.
• Hilo de coser.
• Aguja de coser.
• Relleno.
• Moldes circulares. D=11cms, D=19cms.
• Tijera.
• Alfileres.
• Silicón.
• Un regalo.
• Hilo estambre color blanco (pelo, barba, bigote).

Process//Proceso:

• The molds are pinned on the white fabric and on the red fabric for the body.
• With the help of the scissors the pieces are cut.

• Se dispone con alfileres los moldes en la tela color blanco y en la tela color rojo para el cuerpo.
• Con la ayuda de la tijera se cortan las piezas.

• Then thread the edges of the circles with thread.
• Gather a little and fill them.
• Close the openings and give it the desired shape.

• Luego se hace un hilván con hilo las orillas de los círculos.
• Se frunce un poco y se rellenan.
• Se cierran las aberturas y le damos la forma deseada.

• The arms and legs were made and little padding was introduced to achieve the effect of long legs for just sitting.

• Se hicieron los brazos y piernas y se le introdujo poco relleno para lograr el efecto de piernas largas para solo sentarlo.

Assembly//Ensamblado:

• The beard, mustache, hair and buttons were made.
• All the pieces were glued with silicone.

• Se realizó la barba, el bigote, el cabello y los botones.
• Se pegaron con silicón todas las piezas.

• Since I had bought some paint, I decided to paint the eyes, nose and mouth.
• Among my ornaments I had a little present left from a wreath that fell apart because it was old, but that remained, now it is part of this figure.

• Como habia comprado pintura, opté por pintar los ojos, nariz y boca.
• Entre mis adornos tenía un regalito que había quedado de una corona que se deshizo por vieja, pero eso quedó, ahora es parte de esta figura.

I'm happy because I managed to make this figure, a little arduous task, I lasted until dawn to finish it, the photo shoot and now the assembly of the publication.

Estoy feliz porque logré hacer esta figura, una tarea un poco ardua, duré hasta la madrugada para terminarla, la sesión de foto y ahora el montaje de la publicación.

This Santa Claus brings back happy memories of my childhood. When I wrote for several years the letter saying that I had behaved very well and deserved my gift, sometimes they were toys that my godfather gave me, then we grew up a little, now if they were bought by my parents. There was the magic of Christmas.

Este Santa o Papá Noel trae a mi memoria, unos recuerdos felices de mi niñez. Cuando escribí por varios años la carta diciendo que me había portado muy bien y merecía mi regalo, a veces eran juguetes que mi padrino me obsequiaba, luego crecimos un poco, ahora si eran comprados por mis padres. Allí existía la magia de la navidad.

Then, when I played Santa Claus to read my children's letters and give them what they asked for. I experienced the excitement and joy of my children as they opened the gifts. I had accomplished what I had planned for that day until they grew up and were told the truth. From that moment on I gave them gifts and money vouchers because at that time there was none, they had to wait for paydays. The important thing was to fulfill them with the amount of the vouchers several years we did that kind of gift. Today they are the ones who give me gifts.

Luego, cuando yo hacía de Santa Claus para leer las cartas de mis hijos y obsequiar lo que ellos pedían allí. Viví la algarabía y la alegría de mis hijos cuando abrían los regalos. Había logrado lo planeado para ese día hasta que crecieron y se les dijo la verdad. Desde ese momento les regalaba chucherías y vales de dinero porque en ese momento no había, se tenía que esperar los días de pago. Lo importante era cumplirles con el monto de los vales varios años hicimos ese tipo de regalo. Hoy son ellos los que me regalan.
