Tenebrous hands/Manos tenebrosas

By the year 1970, in the country, particularly in my city, there was a happiness that every weekend there were musical groups and all the adults agreed to go to the shows. In my case my mother agreed with her friends and we were left alone with three siblings. But at that time there were rumors of black cars circulating in the streets that said they were kidnapping children, and they recommended that we should not go near them when we went to school. When my mother left with her friends, I stayed in the living room and my siblings were in their rooms. When suddenly my mind started imagining things and I remembered the rumors about the black vehicle. And I heard the window open and I saw long hands like rubber stretching out and trying to touch me and I, terrified, crawled backwards dodging those dark hands that kept trying to take me, so I lasted a few seconds that seemed an eternity, fighting and screaming and no one listened until I woke up screaming under a piece of furniture in the house. It was all a nightmare because I felt alone and congested by those rumors.

Por el año 1970, en el país, particularmente en mi ciudad, se vivía una felicidad que todos los fines de semana se presentaban grupos musicales y todos los adultos se ponían de acuerdo para ir a los espectáculos. En mi caso mi madre se puso de acuerdo con sus amigas y nos quedamos solos tres hermanos. Pero en esa época se difundían rumores de carros negros que circulaban por las calles que decían que secuestraban niños, y recomendaban que no nos acercáramos a ellos cuando íbamos a la escuela. Cuando mi madre se fue con sus amigos, me quedé en la sala de la casa y mis hermanos estaban en sus cuartos. Cuando repentinamente empezó mi mente a imaginarse cosas y recordaba los rumores sobre el vehículo negro. Y escucho que la ventana se abre y observo unas manos largas como de goma que se estiraban y buscaban a tocarme y yo, atemorizada, me arrastraba hacia atrás esquivando esas manos tenebrosas que seguían tratando de tomarme, así duré unos segundos que parecían una eternidad, luchando y gritaba y nadie escuchaba hasta que entre gritos desperté debajo de un mueble de la casa. Todo fue una pesadilla porque me sentí sola y congestionada por esos rumores.
