A Play-To-Earn Game With 240k Players: Alien Worlds

Alien Worlds ranks second among play-to-earn games listed on Dappradar in terms of player count. As we all know, Splinterlands is in the first place. I was curious about Alien Worlds and decided to play it because it has a sci-fi theme.

Alien Worlds is a space mining game running on the Wax blockchain. Wax also hosts another game with 100k plus players named Farmer World. A blockchain that is ambitious in the play-to-earn category, similar to Hive.

To play Alien Worlds, it is necessary to install the web-based Wax wallet. We can buy Wax on Binance or Tribaldex.com and send it to our web wallet. The question of how much Wax should be taken immediately comes to mind. The game is free to play. Hence we need to buy at least 150 Wax to play the game comfortably.

Just as the Hive blockchain has RC credit, Wax has resources such as CPU, NET, and RAM. By staking cryptocurrencies, as in Hive, we have the necessary resources to transact on the blockchain. We should allocate 100 wax for this purpose. 150 Wax is purchased for 42 dollars. If we are not going to do very intensive processing, it will be sufficient to allocate 100 of our Waxes for CPU and 5 for RAM. By the way, I don't understand why they set up such a complex mechanism.

After making the necessary resource allocations by using the Resources tab on our Wax wallet, we are now able to use Wax Dapps. From this link we become a member of the Alien Worlds game. When we become a member, we are given an avatar NFT and standard shovel free of charge. After choosing the planet and land, we can start mining with this free configuration.

At this stage, we can move on to the planning of our mining process via Alien Worlds Tool Calculator. We can process three mining tools at the same time. The Calculator shows us how these tools will enable us to extract TLM in which terrains and how efficiently. Meanwhile, TLM is Alien Worlds' token created on the Wax blockchain. We can stake TLM on planets and generate income. Each planet has a DAO. Players who stake TLM can vote in elections across planets. The distribution of rewards to lands is one of the issues addressed by DAOs.

It is also among the options to buy land and do mining on it or get rent from people who do mining on it. There is also a section of the game where certain tasks are played out on the BSC blockchain.

Alien Worlds NFTs are traded for Wax on the Atomic Swap marketplace. In addition to the free Standard Shovel, I purchased the Standard Capacitor and the Standard Drill. This investment, which costs like 10 dollars, has doubled the amount of TLM I get out per minute. In the meantime, the tools we have affect our chances of winning free NFTs.

Conclusion

To earn TLM in Alien Worlds game, it is necessary to press the Mine button periodically. Depending on the tools owned, time interval ranges from 3 minutes to several hours. Considering the time I had to spare, the mining return of the game did not appeal to me. Of course, more returns can be obtained by investing in land or applying for assignments. Or the value of NFTs owned may increase if the number of players increases rapidly. When the priority is to make money, the DEFI options are more appealing to me, but I may be missing something. If you have experience with Alien Worlds, please do not hesitate to share in the comments section.

Thank you for reading.

I've been playing the game for a couple of months. I'm getting around 0.10 per 15 minutes thanks to the tools and the land that I'm mining on.

There is still hope for Alien Worlds to grow but so far it could not come up with an amazing product but for clickable de-fi. Binance + launch of wars may change the game sentiments ^^

I'm always intrigued by the way that games set up their tokenomics and what tweaks they make to keep things sustainable as the game evolves.

It's interesting to see the evolution of the game since this early look that asked whether Alien Worlds is worth your time.

Thanks for the update :)
