Kulu Mastermind Can Be A Game Changer

Starting January 31st, we can earn 43 new Splinterlands reward cards from chests. The Splinterlands team shared detailed information about the new cards in the post below.

Announcing the New Chaos Legion Reward Cards

New reward cards bring renewed excitement to Splinterlands. Because the cards in question are soulbound. Therefore, buying from the market will not be possible for long. Soulbound cards, which will bring a competitive advantage to their owners, have yet to be encountered in battles in the higher leagues. Because to have high-level cards, it is necessary to combine the cards. At the end of the first season, I reached 7% progress for common and rare reward cards and 3% for the epic and legendary reward cards. If the rates continue like this, I will reach 100% progress on common and rare cards in 7 months and 100% on the epic and legendary cards in 16 months. These times may be longer as the distribution of cards will not be even. After the issuance of cards ends, they can be bought and sold in the market. Thus, I will have the chance to compensate for my shortcomings by selling the surplus.

Kulu Mastermind

After this long introduction, I would like to talk about the new reward card deck member that caught my attention the most. The Water element was already strong thanks to cards like Baakjira, Deeplurker, and Angelic Mandarin. Now, Kulu Mastermind is added to these cards. This card can be a game changer in high mana games because it can be used in the back row thanks to the opportunity feature. The shield is a feature we don't often see on cards that can be used in the back row. Shield halves the power of arrow and melee attacks. Its weakness is that it is not effective against a magic attack. This situation should be acceptable, as the number of cards that can fire magic to the back row is limited. So it will be difficult to destroy the Kulu Mastermind. Moreover, the melee attack score, which is 5 when injured, will increase to 8 thanks to the enrage feature. The opponents should be afraid because Kulu Mastermind can find the card with minor health with the Opportunity feature.

Since his Kulu Mastermind has nine mana, it is impossible to hunt it with giant killer cards. Adding a healer near him will make it harder to destroy nine shielded lives.

Six of the new reward cards feature weapon training. The description of this skill, which Kulu Mastermind also has, is as follows:

Adjacent monsters gain half this Monster's attack if they have no attacks themselves.

Thanks to the Weapons training skill, Kulu Mastermind gives the power to shoot no attack cards on both sides. However, as we know, we cannot make melee attacks from the back row. So, to take advantage of this feature, we must put Kulu Mastermind in second place. So, for example, it can give a melee attack to Baakjira. In this context, using the neutral card Almo Cambio in the front row is also possible.

The weapons training feature will be more effective in games where rulesets such as Equal Opportunity, Melee Mayhem, and Super Sneak are valid. These rulesets allow melee attack monsters to shoot from the back row. In this case, Kulu Mastermind can give a melee attack feature to the two no-attack cards in the back row. In this context, we can use Kelp Initiate in addition to Baakjira and Almo Camio.

I explained Kulu Mastermind using the full features of the card. I still have the Level 1 version of this card. Even a level 1 Kulu Mastermind helped me win a battle in the champions league. Moreover, my opponent was also using this card.

Conclusion

Of course, other cards caught my attention in the new reward set—for example, Venari Marksrat. I still have the level 2 version of this card. This card, which has the Marytr feature, when it dies, it increases the properties of the monsters on both sides of it by one point. The fact that the mana value is as low as three and is neutral are features that make this card strong. Especially if it is resurrected, the effect of Venari Markstad will be doubled.

How about a Kulu Mastermind powered by Venari Marksrat? I think it would be great.

Thank you for reading.

Yeah, I enjoy using it so far, especially in Melee rules like Mayhem, Opportunity and Sneak. The advantage is big if placed between two monsters without an attack.
