Hello everyone, I was a long time away from publishing content for the community for time reasons, now I'm back and I will use this account to continue with my publications on soccer, today I bring you a new biography, this time of one of the best Brazilian players in history, Rivaldo.

Vítor Borba Ferreira Gomes was a Brazilian footballer born on April 19, 1972, prolific player and winner of multiple awards, who excelled as a playmaker or as a striker, a player with a magical left foot and with a lot of technique, for many is one of the greatest exponents of ''jogo bonito''.

Rivaldo began his career at the age of 16 in Paulistano where he failed to stand out because the technical team claimed that Rivaldo had a very weak physique to be a footballer, in 91 he signed for Cruz Futebol Clube where he began to show flashes of quality, from there he went through several teams of low category until 93 when he was loaned to Corinthians and where he had a good level, In spite of this, Corinthians did not sign him, but it was Palmeiras who signed the Brazilian, who arrived in 1994 where he became an idol, in 110 games he scored 60 goals, which made Europe take notice of him in 1996, at the age of 24.

Rivaldo arrived at Deportivo La Coruña as the most expensive signing in its history at that time, wearing the number 11 that he inherited from his compatriot Bebeto, his first goal was scored against Atletico de Madrid, finishing his first season with 21 goals in 41 games and marveling all the fans of the team with his soccer, he was the fourth top scorer of that tournament, he played only one season with Deportivo, because on August 15, 97 he was signed by the club where he would shine with greater force, FC Barcelona.

FC Barcelona.

Rivaldo debuted with Barcelona on August 31 with nothing more and nothing less than a double, that year would come his first titles in Europe, winning the league, which was the second top scorer, and also a Copa del Rey, the following year he won the league again in 1999, where he was recognized as the best in the world with the Ballon d'Or and the Fifa World Player, His years in Barcelona were all very fruitful and will always remain in the memory of Barcelona fans that great goal from outside the area that he scored against Valencia and thanks to that, they qualified for the Champions League that season, despite his great level, his constant injuries and a very delicate relationship with Louis Van Gaal, coach of Barcelona at that time, caused the Brazilian to leave the team in 2002.

AC Milan.

Rivaldo sounded for teams like Real Madrid but it was Milan who managed to sign him, he arrived with the star status he showed at Barcelona but his adaptation to Italian soccer was not as expected, although he did not have bad numbers either, he just had a decent performance, but not at the height of what was expected of him, also the signing of Kaka by the Italian club relegated him to a second position and he was less and less taken into account by Carlo Ancelotti, which caused the player to terminate his contract in 2003 to seek new challenges.

Rivaldo returned to Brazil to be part of an ambitious project under Vanderlei Luxemburgo but the sudden dismissal of the latter caused Rivaldo to leave the team just 4 months after his signing, playing only 10 games and scoring 2 goals.

Back To Europe.

In July 2004 he returned to Europe for one more adventure and played in Greece with Olympiakos. There he was received with much affection and in his stay in that country for four seasons he won 3 leagues and two Greek cups, he also played for AEK Athens and in 2008 he went to play in Uzbekistan, with F.K. Bunyodkor, and in the last years of his career as a footballer, he had excellent numbers there, 82 games and 43 goals.

In his last stage as a footballer he played in several clubs such as Mogi Mirim, team of which he is president, in January 2011 he went to Sao Paulo and in December of the same year the club fired him, far from wanting to retire, he signed for Kabuscorp Sport Clube de angola, he played there one season with good numbers and then signed for Associação Desportiva São Caetano of the Brazilian Serie B, in February 2014, at the age of 41, he shared a place on the field with his son Rivaldinho, between the occasional sporadic performance, the Brazilian left soccer for good on August 16, 2015.

National Team.

Rivaldo's most successful stage was with the national team, he debuted in 93 against Mexico, where he scored the winning goal, he missed the Copa America in 97 due to a bad performance in the Olympic Games the previous year, his return to the Canarinha was triumphant as he was champion with Brazil in the Confederations Cup, In 1998 he was runner-up in the World Cup against Zidane's France, in 1999 he won the Copa America with Brazil and in 2002, together with Ronaldo and Ronaldinho they formed the three R's, perhaps the most feared attack in the world of soccer at that time, they ended up winning the World Cup with a brutal performance by Rivaldo. 79 games and 37 goals made him one of the best players in the history of Brazil, in total in his career, he won 20 tittles and he played 1033 games in which he scored 446 goals and gave 230 assists, we are talking about a player who generated on average a little more than half a goal per game. A real crack!

when a player has a period as good as Rivaldo's in Barcelona, it is normal that he is not remembered for what he did afterwards, he always maintained a good level but never at the same level as in 2000-2002.

It is often forgotten how good he was into making that WC trio work with R9 and Ronaldinho, his movement really made it work as well as it did.

That's right, and I think that at that time the most important was Rivaldo because he was the one who came with more experience and the one who understood the quality of the two cracks that he had at his side, and he enhanced them a lot, Ronaldinho playing next to Rivaldo was something wonderful to see, and both assisting Ronaldo, it was something sublime.
