My idea for a PGM contest!

In this post, @zottone444 is making us a very interesting proposal in which I want to participate and that's why I'm making this post, there he asks us to express an idea that he can act as a Sponsor with 10k PGM tokens! this sounds wonderful, I can't stay with the desire to opt for a sponsorship like this, so here I go.

What is all this about?

I've been a Splinterlands player for a few months and already in this post I talked about how positive it would be for PGM the creation of tournaments on this platform with this token as a prize, being the host of these tournaments would be great for me to make organic advertising to my own account in which I will soon begin to upload videos in Spanish / English for 3Speak, and also for my clan Fallen Angels that is recruiting Hispanics at this time, in the post gives us the following requirements:

Our goal is to make the project more decentralized, which perhaps was becoming too centralized! For this reason we decided to make this CONTEST FOR 10000 PGM.

More than a prize it will be this:

  • Write a contest idea
  • The idea must be original
  • Do not reward users with a roulette wheel
  • Do not reward users through a draw
  • Skills must be required
  • Doesn't have to be a post on hive but can also be a series of tournaments
  • Must be a contest/event of at least 20 episodes (500 PGM per prize maximum)
  • Earnings from posts/events will be directly yours
  • Professionalism
  • Constancy
  • Confidence in being able to run the contest without interruptions
  • The post where you talk about the idea must have the tag #pgm and #pgmcontest

So what is my idea?

My idea then is to create a 20-tournament format that is suitable for all types of participants (Rookie League) that allows all cards to be used so that anyone can play it. The first 19 tournaments will work as a points league in which each registered user will fight continuously in the table (that I will update in the tournament posts every time I finish one) following the rule of:
Victory: 3 points
Draw: 1 point
Defeat: 0 points

So, anyone can play any of the tournaments and get the prize of that tournament, but if you continue playing the following tournaments you will keep your place in the table which can give you a place for the final tournament.

For the prize, the 500 PGM tokens awarded for each tournament will be distributed gradually among the top 50 finishers of each tournament, as follows:

PositionPrize
1100 PGM tokens
280 PGM tokens
360 PGM tokens
4-1020 PGM tokens each
11-304.5 PGM tokens
31-502.5 PGM tokens

And for the final tournament the prize will be divided among the first 3:

350 PGM tokens for the winner
100 PGM tokens for the second place
50 PGM tokens for the third place

In other words, a player who stays in 1st place in each tournament and ends up winning the final tournament can win no less than 2250 PGM Tokens! (246,375 HIVE at the time of writing this post).

  • the idea is that the tournament has a fast but not overwhelming format, so I think that making each round 3-4 days apart (similar to the brawls) will be perfect for this format, between each tournament will be made publications with all the information regarding each round of the tournament, the winners of each prize and all the information to be updated with each tournament, for example the leaderboard.

  • The entry fee for me would be between 50 and 100 DEC, we would be talking about an entry fee of around 15-30 cents at the moment with a possible prize of approximately 11 HIVES (approx. $12.92), and finishing the tournament in the top 50 already ensures the return of the entry fee.

  • If the tournament is very well attended, which I hope it is, the format can be modified by lowering the entry fee and increasing the winners, I am analyzing these numbers based on 50 players, which I know is a number I can easily reach with the Hispanic community of Splinterlands, so you could say that the tournament would go for sure.

  • Another way would be to divide the 20 tournaments into 5 groups of 4 tournaments each, for each level of play:

    • Novice
    • Bronze
    • Silver
    • Gold
    • Diamond
That would make them shorter competitions and suitable for any level of player. Each one with its individual prizes and allowing multiple participation, because they will be held on different days so that no one misses any detail of each of the tournaments.

Of course, suggestions for this idea will be welcome, if the income generated by this contest exceeds expectations, my idea is to add prizes that make participation more interesting, such as cards or Chaos Legion packs, I could even use part of the entry of each player to buy cards that are distributed among the participants so everyone will get a prize for being in the tournament! the central idea is already there, the only thing missing is the approval of PGM to develop it 100% and go to the moon with this tremendous competition that we could create!
