SBI Giveaway - How far are you from financial freedom

avatar

Most of the people on Hive seem to be very financially inclined and actively pursuing new and effective ways to generate passive income. We're all working to achieve the ultimate dream of being financially free and no longer having to work in order to sustain ourselves. From that point on you're free to choose how to spend your free time and pursue what you love.
Financial freedom is not the same as retirement, it is just the certainty that you don't need to work on something that isn't fulfilling.
I've learned about financial freedom and become obsessed with creating a stream of passive income that would allow me to "retire" early. I have been living WAY below my means for a long time and accumulating assets to help me achieve my dream.

Building up wealth isn't always predictable since sometimes a random black sawn event appears out of nowhere like a worldwide pandemic or a war. It isn't an excuse to stop and blame it on the world, that's when you work harder to take full advantage of the discounts.

My big goal is to achieve financial freedom within the next 3 years. I'm still far from that objective but I've been making incredible progress and the compounding wonder is starting to gain steam.

Tell me if you're chasing financial freedom and what is your goal for a chance to win SBI shares!

3 SBI shares for the lucky winners:

Thank everyone that has been participating in my giveaways, some of the comments are very interesting and I enjoy reading them and replying.

What are Hive SBI Shares:

I'm going to explain this in the simplest manner possible: For every share of Hive SBI, I buy I get a chance to sponsor someone with an equal share. For example, I buy a share and send your username on the Memo. I get 1 share and you also get 1 share.
These shares grant you an upvote on your Hive posts FOREVER, the more shares you have the more and bigger upvotes you get. There is no point in participating if you don't make any posts on your account.

Ahaahah may want to diversify a little bit, 100% in one asset is quite risky 😅

I really doubt anyone isn't chasing it - unless they've already achieved it 🤣.
My goal is about 7 figure sum. Retiring in my country is expensive.

I'm not sure you'll find many people here who aren't looking for financial freedom. My first step is to balance the books in my blockchain gaming. Then to use our profits to expand on new passive

Count me in! @technocrypton
Yes, I’m chasing financial freedom. Within five years, I’m aiming to live in a fully paid off house and earning a small but enough to live on passive income, while complementing that with online active income and a part time “traditional job” (for the extra cash, not because it’s necessary, I aim for!).

Glad to know you're getting close to achieving financial freedom and working on your own terms.

My goal is to retire and have my side income sources be able to cover all my costs. As I live in the US, this amount might take a long time to reach though.

Thanks for the SBI :D

I've been seeking Financial Freedom since I've graduated; I'm a very active member on /r/FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) community and all that jazz. My goal is having enough passive income (investments, real estate, etc.) that allows me to stop working if I want.

I don't follow the subreddit but I'm familiar with the movement! Good luck on your journey to financial freedom 😉

Yep, I am but the world is getting insane... I think I would trade financial freedom for simple freedom... 🙄

Well, the last few years have been a little insane

Oh man... I'm incredibly far from financial freedom/independence. US inflation is absolutely wrecking me too. My SO drives a significant distance getting to work each day and we are paying around $6-$7 per gallon right now (I know thats cheap to you EU folk). With fuel making up an estimated 30% of the inflation we need to figure something out.

That doesn't even consider that my partner is quitting her job in June and will be back in school without pay for the next 3 years. Single family income is going to be hard but it will be worth it when she is done.

Inflation is slowing down our progress to achieve our dreams but we have to work extra hard during these difficult times. Better times will come, the world has been a little insane in the past few years.
Education also counts as an investment, sacrificing some immediate income for a bigger one in the future.

Yes, I'm wondering how many once in a lifetime events I will continue to live through. This decade has been a shit show.

How far are you from financial freedom

In one form or another we all are chasing that goal. As for how close I am, closer than I ever been but not there yet. I have too much in assets and not enough in hand. I believe to get to the next level I need to sell and reposition plus have enough liquid for future opportunities.

I identify so much with this! I'm also knee-deep in assets and don't have the liquidity to grab new opportunities.
On the bright side, it keeps me from spending any money 😁
